A history-sheeter was thrashed and stabbed to death in Delhi’s Badarpur as the neighbours present at the crime scene watched the incident as mute spectators. The video of the incident was caught on CCTV, visuals of which are making rounds of social media. The incident occurred earlier on Wednesday evening and was reported from Badarpur’s Tajpur Pahadi area. After the incident, two accused have been reportedly arrested.

The CCTV footage of the incident shows a man being thrashed by a group of at least three men. Shockingly enough, several people are seen people standing on the doors of their houses and casually walking beside the accused thrashing the victim. The man is repeatedly thrashed at one point, the accused pull out sharp objects, and stab him repeatedly. The accused group is then seen fleeing the scene of crime.

The deceased in the matter was identified as 30-year-old Keshav, a history-sheeter. Keshav was later rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where he was declared dead on arrival. The two accused in the matter, were identified Kohinoor and Vicky, and were arrested.

After being arrested, the accused revealed that they got in a heated argument with the deceased earlier on December 18 at a marriage function.


As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), as many as 29,272 murder cases were reported in 2021, slightly above numbers from 2020 and 2019 which stood at 29,193 and 28,915, respectively. Meanwhile, the number of victims stood at 30,132, translating to over 82 murders every 24 hours of the year.

Delhi meanwhile remained the murder capital of the nation, with as many as 454 cases in 2021, with Mumbai and Chennai trailing behind at 162 and 161 such cases.

The Facts of the Matter

The national capital once again witnessed a horrific murder, which was committed as bystanders and locals simply looked and did nothing. The shocking incident was reported from Delhi’s Badarpur area and took place earlier on Wednesday evening. The deceased in the matter has been identified as 30-year-old Keshav, who was a history-sheeter.

The incident was caught on CCTV, distressing video of which, is making rounds of social media.

What Does the Video Show (Discretion Advised)

The highly distressing video of the incident shows the uglier side of humanity – animosity, rage and apathy of those who simply witnessed the ordeal without intervening or helping the now deceased.

In the video, the gang of accused men can be seen thrashing an accused man with sticks in the lane of Badarpur’s Tajpur Pahadi area. Out of nowhere, the accused pull out sharp objects and stab the deceased with it repeatedly. The deceased falls on the ground and the bystanders and locals in the lane simply stand and look at the incident.

Before one can expect, the accused can be seen fleeing the scene of crime.

Case Registered, Investigation Ensued

Following the incident, the deceased was rushed to the AIIMS, where he was declared dead on arrival. A case under sections 302 and 34 was subsequentially registered based on the statement of the deceased’s nephew.

An investigation was soon launched and a team under ACP Joginder Joon and supervision of ADCP, Surendra Choudhary, started the investigation. The cops traced the mobile numbers of the accused after getting statements from the accused. The accused were arrested near a liquor shop.

Accused Confesses to Crime

The accused were identified as Vicky and Kohinoor. The third accused is a minor. Following the arrest, the accused admitted to killing the deceased over enmity. The two sides had a heated argument earlier on December 18, following which the accused decided to teach the deceased a lesson.
