In a shocking incident, a man in Delhi posed as a lawyer at the Saket court, and attempting to shoot his wife. However, the man misfired and ended up injuring a female advocate. The immediate aftermath of the incident was caught on video, visuals of which are going viral. In one of the videos, a woman can be heard wailing in pain, as locals scramble to rush her to safety.

The court complex in Delhi’s Saket district was bustling with activity as people went about their business on a regular day. However, within moments, chaos erupted as gunshots echoed through the halls, sending people running for cover.

Amidst the commotion, a woman, who had come to the court for a hearing in a financial dispute case, was shot by a person dressed in lawyer’s attire. The gunman, identified as the woman’s husband, had filed a cheating case against her and an advocate earlier that year. The accused had alleged that the woman had taken Rs 25 lakhs from him, promising high returns, and had failed to deliver.

The situation turned deadly as the gunman aimed his weapon at his wife, but misfired and hit a female lawyer. The woman was quickly rushed to the hospital, while the accused made a swift escape.

The Facts of the Matter

The courtrooms are meant to be a place of order and justice, where the law is upheld, and disputes are resolved peacefully. However, in recent times, these halls of justice have been thrown into bedlam due to the rise in shooting incidents inside the court premises.

In one more such incident reported from Delhi, a man posed as a lawyer at Saket Court, and tried shooting his wife, injuring another woman due to misfiring. Reportedly, the accused is a suspended lawyer, and had filed a cheating case against the wife.

Accused Posing as Lawyer Was Suspended by Bar Council

The district court in Saket, Delhi, was thrown into chaos and terror this morning when a woman, identified as M Radha, was shot inside the complex. As per the police, the incident occurred during a hearing for a financial dispute case in which Radha was involved. The perpetrator, who was later identified as Kameshwar Prasad Singh alias Binod Singh, was disguised as a lawyer, an attire he had no right to wear due to his suspension by the Bar Council.

According to senior police officers, Singh had filed a cheating case against the victim and an advocate named Rajendra Jha at the Saket police station in July 2022.

Accused Aimed at Woman Amid Cheating Case

The accused had alleged that the woman had swindled him of a whopping Rs 25 lakhs with the promise of high returns. The case was being heard by the court this morning, and the victim was discussing the matter with her lawyer when Singh pulled out his firearm and opened fire.

Chaos and panic filled the room as people ran for their lives. The accused had fired four to five rounds, one of which hit Radha in the abdomen, and another one in her hand. She writhed in agony as the other lawyers and bystanders watched helplessly.

Woman Rushed to Hospital, Accused on the Run

A police officer who was present in the courtroom at the time of the incident, reacted promptly and rushed the injured victim to Max hospital in Saket. Meanwhile, the perpetrator of the heinous crime had already made his escape through the backdoor of the canteen, leaving a trail of shock and horror behind.
