In another horrific crime against woman, a Delhi-based woman was abducted & gang raped in Ghaziabad by 5 men. Four suspects are already in custody for now and DCW has taken cognizance of the matter. The five accused in the FIR have been identified as Dinu, Dhola, Javed, Sharukh and Aurangzeb. The 40-year-old victim was at a bus stop when she was abducted and later gang-raped.

Earlier on Wednesday, DCW chief Swati Maliwal took to Twitter and wrote “The Delhi woman was on her way back from Ghaziabad in the night when she was forcibly taken away in the car. 5 people raped her for 2 days & inserted rod in her private parts. The rod was still inside it when she was found in a sack on the side of the road. The woman is fighting for life in the hospital. Notice has been issued to SSP Ghaziabad!”.

The police denied DCW chief’s statements, and added that a tongue cleaner was found in the woman’s private parts.

According to Ghaziabad Superintendent of Police Nipun Agarwal, the incident may have been in connection to a property dispute between the victim and the accused men. The Ghaziabad SP mentioned that the victim knew all the five accused, and a case regarding property dispute involving the two parties is currently pending in the court.

The Facts of the Matter

While 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case sent waves of shock across the country, and led to multiple policy and law-related changes made, incidents of gang rapes have been so common, that they are almost normalized.

Earlier this week, a Delhi-based woman was gang raped by five men. The 40-year-old victim was found lying near Ashram Road, Ghaziabad. The cops were alerted and the woman was rushed to a hospital, where she filed a complaint.

Four Suspects Nabbed

Following an investigation, the cops nabbed four of the five alleged suspects. The suspects have been identified as Shahrukh, Aurangzeb, Dhola, Dinu and Javed.

The incident occurred when the victim’s brother dropped her to a bus stand in Ghaziabad. The woman was abducted by the accused and she was gang raped inside their vehicle. A case was registered at the Nandgram police station, and an investigation is still underway.

DCW Chief Issues Statement

Following the incident, Delhi Commission of Women chief Swati Maliwal took to Twitter and stated that she has issued a notice to the Ghaziabad SSP. “The Delhi woman was on her way back from Ghaziabad in the night when she was forcibly taken away in the car. 5 people raped her for 2 days & inserted rod in her private parts. The rod was still inside it when she was found in a sack on the side of the road. The woman is fighting for life in the hospital. Notice has been issued to SSP Ghaziabad!” she tweeted.

Meanwhile, the cops have refuted the DCW chief’s statements and stated that a tongue cleaner was found in the woman’s private parts, not a rod.

Property Dispute Connection

As per Ghaziabad Superintendent of Police Nipun Agarwal, the 40-year-old victim already knew all the accused. He mentioned that the incident could be in connection to a property dispute between the accused and the victims. As per the Ghaziabad SP, a property dispute case between the two parties is still pending in the court.
