On her way to work, a woman in Delhi got mowed down by a moving bus while crossing a road in the Karol Bagh area. The hair-raising video of the incident shows how even when the bus was not speeding, it completely crushed the woman who eventually died on the spot. The victim in the matter was identified as 27-year-old Sapna Yadav, who was on her way to work when the incident happened on Monday.

In the hair-raising incident video now making rounds of social media, the woman can be seen walking on the road from the other side of the bus which remained stationary initially. As the woman made her way to the other side of the road and crosses it, the bus starts and mows her down. Shockingly enough, the bus driver doesn’t stop despite crushing the woman down. Meanwhile, locals and bystanders are seen in a state of panic and disbelief.

As per reports, the victim Sapna was traveling from Jhandewalan Extension to Loni when the bus crushed her sometime around 10.10 am. The victim was employed at a logistics company and worked as a receptionist.

Meanwhile, the bus driver and conductor fled the scene after the incident and left the bus. The bus was seized by the cops and efforts are on to catch the driver.

The Facts of the Matter

According to the Delhi Police data, the national capital witnessed as many as 2,300 accidents in the first five months of 2022, where as many as 500 people died. This means that on an average, 100 persons died every month in the first five months of 2022, accounting to 3.3 deaths every day.

Meanwhile, another harrowing incident of fatal accident was reported from Delhi, where a bus ran over a woman trying to cross a road. The incident was reported from Karol Bagh area of the national capital where the 27-year-old victim, identified as Sapna Yadav, met her end in a brutal way.

The moment when the bus ran over Sapna was caught on CCTV, triggering visuals of which are making rounds of social media.

What Does the Video Show?

In the video gone viral, Sapna can be seen walking on the relatively unoccupied road. A parked bus can also be seen in the video. Assuming that the bus is not going to move, the woman quickly starts to cross the road. To her and the horror of many bystanders, the bus suddenly moves, and mows her over. Bystanders can be seen acting shocked and agitated at the entire ordeal. Meanwhile, the bus doesn’t stop and moves away.

Driver, Conductor Fled the Scene

As per DCP (Central), Shweta Chauhan, the cops received an alerted about the incident and a team was rushed to the spot. The cops found the bus and its conductor to be absconding and seized the bus. Initial investigation indicates that the bus was traveling from Delhi to Ajmer and has a Haryana registration plate.

Victim’s Father a Fruit Vendor

The deceased victim’s father identified as Bhule Singh, makes his living as a fruit vendor. In an interview to media, the family claimed that Sapna was on her way to catch a bus to her work when she met the accident. Meanwhile, efforts are on to nab the accused.
