Recently, a Pakistani anchor Nida Yasir hilarious questions about F1 cars went viral. The anchor can be heard asking two students, “Did you experiment the formula”, when she is told that the car is a ‘formula’ car.

The anchor further asks whether the car has horn just like regular cars and whether a formula one car drives as fast as a ‘petrol wali’ car.

The interview was telecasted back in 2016, but after getting resurfaced on Twitter, has gone viral with netizens wondering whether the anchor did any preparation before taking interview.

The Facts of the Matter

In one such incident, a Pakistani news anchor became the laughing stock of netizens across India and even Pakistan itself. In 2016, talk show host Nida Yasir had a couple of bright Pakistan students in her talk show ‘Good Morning Pakistan’.

The host and the students indulged in light-hearted conversation about Formula 1 cars. Little did the host know that the 2016 interview would go viral and she would be the laughing stock for trolls across the two nations.

In the 2016 episode of ‘Good Morning Pakistan, host Nida had invited bright students Abdul and Mohammad from Pakistan’s National University of Sciences and Technology. The two students had made a completely electric Formula 1 car for a competition that was to be held in USA.

“So You Started Off Slow with 1-Person Car?”: Nida Yasir

Due to her lack of knowledge about Formula 1 cars, Nida asks the two students how many people can the car have in it. The students politely tell her, “The car seats 1 person as it’s a Formula 1 car”. The host, who probably didn’t know much about Formula 1 cars then quizzes the students, “So basically you’ve started off slow with 1-person seat”.

The Guests Try Clearing the Air

Her guests then continue telling her what the car is all about and say, “No. Basically ma’am, this is a Formula car”, to which the host retorts, “So you’ve made the formula. Did you experiment the formula in the car?”

The students again try to correct the host and say, “It’s a Formula 1 car. In a formula 1 car, only one person can be seated. It’s just a racing car”.

Getting the message, the host then asks the students whether they’ve sat in the car to which she’s said that they have sat in the car and driven it as well.

“Horns Are Very Necessary in Pakistan”

She again asks a dubious question to the students. “Have you given any option for horn like other cars have?” Her talk show guests politely reply, “Yes ma’am,” and she instantly replies, “Horns are very necessary in Pakistan.”

Confusing Apple Inc to the Fruit

It should be noted that this is not the first time a Pakistani host became the laughing stock of the audience. Back in 2019, a news anchor went viral when she confused tech giant Apple Inc to the fruit. It so happened that a panelist shared a statistic saying, “Apple’s business is much larger than Pakistan’s entire budget.”

To this the naive reporter said, “Yes sir, I’ve heard that a single apple is also really expensive.” The panelist corrected her and said, “It’s Apple phones we are talking about not the fruit”.
