In Dombivli, an auto driver thrashed a passenger with bamboo stick over the non-payment of Rs 10. The incident was caught on camera, visuals of which are going viral and garnering outrage on social media. In the immediate aftermath the police identified the accused driver, and have issued a lookout for his arrest.

Ganesh Tambe, a passenger, was returning home after a long day at work. Little did he know that the night was about to turn into a nightmare for him. As he alighted the autorickshaw near his home in Pisavali in Kalyan, he was confronted by the auto driver who demanded Rs 40 for the ride till Tata Power House Circle. Ganesh knew that the usual fare was only Rs 30, and he refused to pay the extra Rs 10.

The auto driver became furious and started to argue with him. In a fit of rage, the auto driver picked up a bamboo stick from his vehicle and started to hit Ganesh with it. The other auto drivers present at the scene tried to intervene, but the accused driver was too angry to listen.

After the assault, Ganesh dialed the police emergency number 100 and shared the registration number of the accused’s autorickshaw. Meanwhile, he was rushed to a government hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

Trivial causes can often have dangerous consequences, especially when it comes to the safety of passengers. In many cases, something as small as an argument over the fare can quickly escalate into a violent and life-threatening situation. Something similar was witnessed in Thane, where an auto driver in Dombivli went on to assault a passenger with a bamboo stick, putting him in hospital – all for Rs 10.

Passenger’s Life on Line over Rs 10

On a seemingly ordinary Monday night, a passenger in Thane district of Maharashtra faced a brutal and terrifying ordeal that left him injured and shaken. The victim, Ganesh Tambe, was assaulted by an autorickshaw driver near Indira Chowk in Dombivli (East) after he refused to pay an extra Rs 10 on top of the usual fare. The incident, which was captured on video and shared widely on social media, has sparked outrage among the public and raised concerns about the safety of passengers.

The incident was caught on camera and soon went viral on social media. The shocking video showed the accused driver brutally thrashing Ganesh with the bamboo stick. The police registered a case against the accused driver, and a complaint was filed by Ganesh himself.

How Trivial Disagreement Turned Violent

According to Tambe, he hailed down the autorickshaw to return to his residence in Kalyan’s Pisavali area. He asked the driver to take him to Tata Power House Circle, but when the driver demanded Rs 40 for the ride, Tambe pointed out that it was overcharging as the usual fare was only Rs 30.

This seemingly trivial disagreement quickly escalated into a violent confrontation when the driver lost his temper and pulled out a bamboo stick from his vehicle, using it to assault Tambe.

Victim Hospitalised, Accused on Run

The victim, in a state of shock and fear, immediately called the police emergency number ‘100’. However, by the time the police arrived at the scene, the accused and other auto drivers had already fled.

Tambe later filed a complaint with the Ramnagar police, who have registered an assault case against the accused driver. While the accused continued to be on the run, Tambe was admitted to Shastri Nagar Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries and was discharged the next morning.
