Donald Trump who was the previous President of America was barred by major companies of social media like Twitter and Facebook. Trump used to rely highly on Twitter for news coverage, major policy announcements, raising money, insulting his political rivals, and connecting with his supporters. While being banned by Twitter permanently and a two-year suspension from Facebook had led Trump to rely on press releases, interviews with media, and campaigning rallies. Facebook has given Trump a minimum suspension of two years which will be reinstated only if there is no risk to public safety. However, Donald Trump has sued Google, Twitter, and Facebook in July 2021 for being made a victim of censorship.

Trump’s Pitch on His New Launch

On being banned by Twitter and Facebook, Trump refers to his new social media company launch of Truth Social as a “stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech.” He said that everyone used to ask him why no one stands up to Big Tech. To answer that, Trump said, “Well, we will be soon!” Trump expressed that he is excited to soon share his views and first truth on Truth Social. He also said that TMTG was found to give voice to all and fight back against Big Tech. He said, “ a truth is equivalent to a message or a tweet on Twitter.”

Through an email made by the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), Trump conveyed a message teasing, “We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced.”
