In an incident showing how randomly and out-of-nowhere tragedy can strike one, Dr Deepa Sharma – the Himachal landslide victim – tweeted just minutes before her death. The Jaipur based doctor was one of the 9 victims of the recent landslide that occurred in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district on Sunday. The tragedy is all the more bitterly ironic, as she had travelled to Himachal Pradesh to celebrate her 38th birthday.

Dr. Deepa Sharma’s Last Tweets

Epitomizing the above notion of the sheer temporariness of human life, Jaipur based ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Deepa Sharma had taken to Twitter to share images of picturesque Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. However, little did she know that she will be losing her life at the same hill station a few minutes later.

Deepa was on Holiday to Celebrate 38th Birthday

After her untimely devise, Deepa’s brother Mahesh took to Twitter to confirm the news of her sister’s death and also gave a glimpse into how Deepa’s last days were spent like. Taking to Twitter, Mahesh wrote, “My sister deepa Sharma going for spiti tour on her upcoming 38th birthday on 29 July. She was very happy for this planned trip. She purchased new professional camera and new smartphone for it. She love nature and now my sister die in the lap of nature.may her soul rest in peace.”

Further, Deepa was herself taking to Twitter quite regularly during her trip to Himachal and posted several pictures of the tourist spots she visited. “Standing at the last point of India where civilians are allowed. Beyond this point around 80 kms ahead we have border with Tibet whom China has occupied illegally,” she wrote in one tweet and with it posted her own picture where she stood near a board which denoted it was the Indo-Tibet border.

In another picture, she can be seen smiling widely and with her arms wide open, standing on boulders set on a river stream. She captioned the picture saying, “Life is nothing without mother nature.”

On the morning of July 24, a few days before her untimely passing, Deepa had taken to Twitter to share a video where she showed the picturesque nature around her. “Spent the morning amid the Deva Bhumi Himachal Pradesh”, she captioned.

Confirming Holiday Weeks Before on Twitter

With 21.2 thousand followers on Twitter, Deepa had confirmed that she would be visiting a natural holiday spot to celebrate her birthday. On July 2 she had taken to Twitter and had said, “In exact 27 days I have my birthday and I don’t want to spend it just checking twitter, thanking to birthday wishes. I want to feel nature, greenery, river, cool vibes, away from people’s comments of being single on one another birthday or any other negativity/tension.”

Dr. Deepa was also a KBC Participant

Meanwhile, after her passing, it was also found out that she was a participant in the 2013 edition of Kaun Benga Crorepati. Images of her sharing the stage with Kaun Banega Crorepati host Amitabh Bachchan have resurfaced and have been making the rounds on the internet.
