Twitter owner Elon Musk recently claimed of being at a “significant risk” of being assassinated, jokingly adding that he won’t be doing “open-car parades” in future.

The techpreneur’s newest claims came during a two-hour long audio chat on Twitter Spaces. In his discussion, Musk also spoke about free speech, mental health, and Twitter-related matters.

For the unversed, Elon Musk is currently the richest man on the planet with a net worth of billions of dollars, and leadership positions at SpaceX and Tesla. Like most high-value and highly influential people, Musk to has realized that he faces a “significant risk” of being eliminated by several parties who may not have his best interest in their minds.

“Frankly the risk of something bad happening to me, or even literally being shot, is quite significant. It’s not that hard to kill somebody if you wanted to, so hopefully they don’t, and fate smiles upon the situation with me and it does not happen … There’s definitely some risk there,” he was quoted saying.

Musk in his discussion also spoke about free speech, and added, “at the end of the day, we just want to have a future where we’re not oppressed. (Where) our speech is not suppressed, and we can say what we want to say without fear of reprisals.”

The Facts of the Matter

Influential people across the world often run into the risk of being eliminated or harassed in some form. Be it physical harassment and abuse, or mental harassment, or even disruption of their financial avenues, those who are on a journey to change the world, continue to face such risks.

Elon Musk, a man who dreams of conquering Mars, is one such individuals. Recently, Musk became the owner of Twitter, and since then, has been in news for myriad of reasons.

In a recently held discussion, Musk was quoted saying, “I don’t think about taking my own life. If I killed myself, it wasn’t really me.”

Musk has Discussion on Twitter Spaces

The SpaceX CEO recently had a two-hour discussion on Twitter spaces, where he stunned his followers by claiming he has been at a “significant risk” of being assassinated.

Elon Musk Gets Called Out Over Free Speech Issues

Since aggressively going after Twitter, and ultimately becoming one of its biggest independent owners, Musk has been talking quite a lot about right to free speech and what it means for his platform. Earlier, Musk was called a “hypocritical technocrat” by many after he suspended Ye West’s Twitter account following West’s antisemitic comments.

“As long as you…”: What Musk had to Say on Free Speech

During his discussion on Twitter Spaces, Musk once again spoke in length about free speech. “At the end of the day, we just want to have a future where we’re not oppressed. (Where) our speech is not suppressed, and we can say what we want to say without fear of reprisals”, he said, adding, “As long as you’re not really causing harm to somebody else, then you should be allowed to say what you want.”
