An FIR has been filed against Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife Aaliya over non-payment of Rs. 31 lakhs in dues. For the unversed Aaliya Siddiqui was reported to be making her debut in the entertainment industry as the producer of a film called ‘Holy Cow’.

However, before her journey could begin, she has bumped into a speed breaker with legal and financial ramifications. Moreover, she has been accused by none other than the co-producer of the film.

According to reports, co-producer and creative producer of Holy Cow’ Manju Garhwal has filed a complaint against Aaliya Siddiqui for pending dues, mental harassment and agony. In her complaint, Garhwal has alleged that Aaliya has not returned her Rs. 31 lakhs which was invested by her in the venture.

In her interview to ETimes, Garhwal mentioned that Aaliya and she had been friends since 2005. She alleged that Aaliya convinced her father to give her the money he got after a property deal, promising him that she would return it in a month’s time. Garhwal mentioned how Aaliya never returned the money,

Moreover, Garhwal also noted how Aaliya refused to give her the credit of creative and co-producer of the film after their dispute. Garhwal noted that she wants the money and her due credit before the film’s release.

The Facts of the Matter

Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the poster-boy of a rags-to-riches story. From a man who started his journey by appearing in the film barely for a minute, to making appearances at Cannes, he has come a long way.

However, the actor’s name is recently making the buzz for all the wrong reasons. It is being reported that his wife has allegedly not-paid Rs. 31 lakhs to the co-producer of her film ‘Holy Cow’.

FIR Filed Against Aaliya

Before she could make her debut in the industry as a producer of the film, Aaliya is already embroiled in controversy. Manju Garhwal, the co and creative producer of ‘Holy Cow’ recently took to the police and filed an FIR against Aaliya Siddiqui at the Amboli police station.

Manju and Aaliya Friends Since 2005

During her interview with ETimes, Manju mentioned how she and Aaliya had been friends since 2005 and noted how Aaliya wanted to be a producer for a long time. She mentioned that for a project, Aaliya asked her to take charge of the creative side and she decided to manage the finances.

“I roped in actors and cast for the project, but the money paid to them through cheques soon started bouncing,” she said, adding that her father also invested money on the insistence of Aaliya Siddiqui.

Aaliya Received Finances from Property Deal

Manju alleged that her father was selling property in Ujjain, something that Aaliya was aware of. Since Aaliya was in need of finances, she allegedly convinced Manju’s father of giving her money he received in the property deal, and promised that she would return it in a month.

She further mentioned that after her fallout with Aaliya, Aaliya refused to give her the credit of creative and co-producer of ‘Holy Cow’.

Rs. 22 Lakhs Paid, Rs. 31 Lakhs Remain Unpaid

According to an ETimes report, Manju was in the possession of a hard drive which contained some data for the film. After repeated insisting, Aaliya allegedly paid Rs. 22 lakhs to Manju. However, since then she has not paid the pending Rs. 31 lakhs.

“I have even filed a complaint with the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) and I have recently got to know that she has initiated talks in the payment matter with my team. But I don’t know when it will materialise,” she told ETimes.
