A battery box of a coach on the Bhopal-Delhi Vande Bharat Express caught fire this morning today. Fortunately, everyone on board is safe and there have been no reported injuries. As the train left Rani Kamalapati station (formerly known as Habibganj) en route to Nizamuddin in New Delhi, a fire started. Railway staff noticed the C-12 coach’s battery box was burning at 6:45 am.

As soon as the fire was observed, the Rani Kamalapati-Hazrat Nizamuddin Vande Bharat Express was quickly halted between Kurwai and Kaithora stations in Vidisha District, according to information provided to PTI by the authorities.

Nobody was hurt in the incident in which between 20 and 22 passengers were quickly transferred to different coaches, an official told PTI.

The official stated that the fire was quickly subdued, and railway personnel are now in the process of doing repairs.

MP Got 3 Vande Bharat Trains

Since April 2023, three Vande Bharat trains have been introduced to Madhya Pradesh. The first one is a round trip from Rani Kamlapati-Nizamuddin-Rani Kamlapati and the other two, flagged off simultaneously by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 27, run between Bhopal and Indore and Rani Kamlapati-Jabalpur-Rani Kamlapati.

In the period from June to December 2020, Vande Bharat trains were responsible for hitting and killing 68 animals, as Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s reply to parliament indicates. Additionally, there have also been reports of the train being pelted with stones in multiple incidents.
