Amid all the Florida man news, a Florida middle school girl is making the buzz for stealing $13,000 from her grandparents and giving it away to her classmates. The incident was reported from Lake Weir Middle School located in Summerfield and occurred earlier on Thursday.

Initially, the girl denied the claims, and said that she was handed the money by a former student who wanted the money to be given away. However, investigation revealed that the girl had stolen the money from her grandmother’s safe.

One of the parents who has a child study at the school told local media that she received a call from the school’s principal, asking parents to inquire whether their children received any money from the girl who stole the money from her grandparents.

School officials floated a directive to all the parents which read – “We would like to recover this money for the grandparents. If you speak with your children and if they have received money from the student, please turn it in to our school resource officers.”

The officials have since been able to recover $700 of the cash given away. Meanwhile remaining $2,500, that the girl was still packing in her school bag, was returned to the grandmother.
