Friends: The Reunion- First teaser of reunion released; David Beckham, BTS & more to join cast

In the massively awaited Friends Reunion situation, the first teaser of the sitcom’s reunion taping was released and fans can’t keep calm as David Beckham, BTS and a slew of other celebrities will be joining the cast. The one-off reunion episode will be out on HBO Max and will be released on May 27.

Once a widely popular TV show from US and now a cult classic among the youth of the country, Friends will be back on the screen again. However, this time it will not be an episode or a season, but a reunion of all the major actors of the show. Although not much is known about the actual format of the reunion, fans are waiting for the show with a bated breath.

Fans of Friends got a great surprise as the first teaser of the show’s reunion was released on YouTube. The teaser features the cast of show walking together, arms in arms as the acoustic version of the show’s theme plays in the background.

The unscripted reunion will release on May 27 on HBO’s streaming service HBO Max. It should be noted that this particular streaming service is not available in India, and as of now, now official word is out on how the Indian fans would be able to watch the show.

A lot of the reunion’s format and its structure is kept under the veil of secrecy which has pumped up the fans even further and have left them speculating. The only thing that is confirmed is the fact that all the 6 major actors from the show will take to the original set where the show was shot, i.e., Stage 24.

The actors will spill the beans about their journey after the show’s end, how it was to play the character that they did, and some other juicy anecdotes.

Just a week ago, fans got some more insight as to what awaited them in the reunion premiere when Courtney Cox, who played Monica in Friends gave an interview to Ellen DeGeneres. On the Ellen Show, Cox was asked about what she could tell about Friends Union. Cox in her response said how it was amazing to meet other actors and film with them. “It was so emotional,” she added

The Scream franchise actor also said, “It’s an unscripted reunion, but we got to be on stage 24 for the first time, all of us, in 17 years.” Cox aka Monica also said that the reunion has a lot of surprises for the fans.

“We had a lot of special surprises. It was fantastic, it really was,” said Cox.

She also shared a rib-tickling anecdote from the show’s intro where all 6 actors are seen dancing around the fountain. DeGeneres asked whose idea was it and Cox said, “Well, it definitely wasn’t mine. Someone thought that would be fun.” She also added how it was not fun to dance around a fountain for hours.

Earlier, in March, David Schwimmer who played Ross Gellar, Monica’s brother and a paleontologist, said that the show’s taping would begin in “little over a month”.

Schwimmer in his interview to SiriusXM said “It’s happening. Actually, in a little over a month I’m heading out to LA.” It should be noted that the shooting of the one-off unscripted variety episode was scheduled to happen last year. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the show’s cast and crew had to take a break and wait.

“So, finally, I mean, we figured out a way to film it safely and there’s going to be a portion of it that we filmed outside because of, you know, for safety protocols,” said Schwimmer.

In an Instagram post the show revealed that along with the main cast of the show, a slew of guests will be making appearances. From legendary English footballer David Beckham to Noble Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, the show will have some seemingly awesome appearances.
