A 14-year-old girl from Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh was raped by her classmates twice by threatening her over a controversial photo. The News triggered a rage across the town and thousands of men and women tried to vandalise the school building where the accused and the culprit are students.

Cases of mob-lynching, as well as child rapism, have been increasing to a greater extent. A 14-year-old girl, who is a student of St. Joseph Convent Senior Secondary School lodged a complaint on 19.09.2019 against two of her classmates accusing them of raping her.
The news spread like wildfire on Wednesday in the town and on Thursday, people came in thousands to express their anger on the matter and went on to protest in front of the school trying to vandalise the building. The police had to lathicharge them to stop them from creating chaos in the town. The crowd included thousands of school & college students who were demanding firm action against them.
As reported by the girl, she was raped two times by her classmates in 10 days. She told that the prime accused came to her house with one of his friends on 09.09.2019 when she was alone at her home. They took turns to rape her one after another. Further, she asked a girl for the 2nd time on 19.09.2019 to come to Aashirwad Hotel Room No. 108 and threatened her that if she denies then he would share her videos everywhere.
The girl kept silent both the times due to the boys’ threat. However, soon her health started to get low and she could not hold the fear inside. As a result, she shared the problem with her parents and soon they reached the police station to complain. As a result, police arrested the two boys and remanded in a juvenile home on grounds of gang-raping their classmates.
However, as the news turned viral, the mobs could not control their rage and exhibited anger in large numbers around the city. The police had to take strict actions against the crowd to maintain peace in the city.
As per the reports, some of the protesters along with Station Road police station in-charge Rajendra Verma and a journalist were injured in the incident. The protesters handed over a memorandum to the SP at the school’s gate. District Bar Association President, Dashrath Patidar told that advocates of the city’s lawyer council have abandoned work for the day in to protest against the gang-rape of the victim by Juveniles.
Ratlam collector Ruchika Chouhan said, “We have strengthened security. Police are deployed in key areas to avoid any untoward incident. The administration is alert.”
Apart from this, there were roundups on Wednesday on the two other suspects Shakil and Adig who booked the hotel room where the minor girl was raped. Further, the two managers of Ashirwad Hotel were also booked under the case. Shakil has been on run since Wednesday.

Further SP Tiwari said “The minors were produced in court and sent to a juvenile home. Shakil and Adig, who booked the room, and two managers have been booked. One of the managers was arrested while one other is absconding.”
The incident has not been taken well by the city and the people could not stop expressing anger over the situation. Since the culprit, as well as the victim, is of the minor (below 18 years age), name of neither of them has been disclosed.
