Bollywood actress Gauahar Khan faced a tragic blow when her father died just hours after she shared her last picture with him on Instagram. Zafar Ahmed Khan was the father of the Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan who was undergoing medical treatment at Mumbai Hospital.
After the passing of her father, Gauahar took to Twitter to share the sad news with her fans. In her caption, she wrote, “My Hero. No man like u, Ever heartbroken! My father has passed , to the ever after as an Angel. Alhamdulillah. His passing away was a testament to his beautiful life n the best soul he was. Forever My Pappa. I love you oh so much. I am sooooo much of you Pappa . N yet can never ever be even a percent of your magnanimous personality. #MyForeverShiningStar. Keep him in your prayers please. innal lillahee wainna ilayhi raajeeoon.”

The sad news of Mr. Zafar’s passing was first shared by Gauahar’s close friend Preeti Simoes on Friday morning. Simoes took to Instagram and posted a video of Mr. Zafar’s pictures with Gauahar and his other close relatives. With the video, she also wrote, “Mere Gauahar ke pappa…To the man i loved…Lived with pride … and will be remembered with pride… Strength and Love. To the family.” The video also shows a glimpse of Gauahar telling her father, “May mummy and you live 100 years.”

Post the demise of Mr. Zafar, Gauahar changed her Instagram profile picture to an image of a burning candle. On Thursday, Gauahar had posted a story with a picture of her father with her while she held his hand at the hospital. In the story, she had written a prayer for her father and asked God to bless her father.
Meanwhile, Zaid Darbar, who is Gauahar’s husband and the son of Bollywood composer Ismail Darbar, also took to Instagram to condole the death of his loving wife’s father. Zaid shared an image of him sharing a hug Gauahar’s father. With the image, Zaid wrote a caption saying, “Please keep my father in law in your Duaa’s. Allah give him the best of health. Ameen! He’s the coolest man I know. Alhamdulillah.”

It should be noted that since the last few days Gauahar had been posting several stories and pictures on Instagram while she was by the side of her unwell father. After Mr. Zafar’s demise, Bollywood paparazzo Viral Bhayani also shared a few pictures of Gauahar as she was calmly making the arrangements for the funeral of her father.
Gauahar and Zaid tied the knot in December 2020. The A-list Bollywood always denied the rumours of their relationship and eventually, confirmed the rumours true just weeks before their wedding. The digital wedding card of the couple went viral on Instagram and Twitter in which the couple went into the details about their ’lockdown love story’.

On the work front, Gauahar’s debut came in 2008 when she starred with Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year. She then starred in the revenge drama Ishaqzaade which starred Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. Gauahar’s claim to fame came in the form of her victory in the seventh edition of Bigg Boss which started in 2013.
