GB WhatsApp is an unofficial third-party modification of the official WhatsApp client; the app is not available on the Google Play Store. The app is available in the form of an APK, which can be downloaded and installed from on user’s devices.

However, these APKs are usually hosted on unreliable sites and installing them can prove to be risky and can lead to inviting some unwanted malicious virus infection attack on the installed device.

Is GB WhatsApp malicious?

If GB WhatsApp is used, then the original WhatsApp account can be blocked. This clone app steals the information of the users. The most important thing is that this app is not available on Google Play Store. To download it, its APK file needs to be downloaded which is not a secure option.

Back in 2019, WhatsApp started temporarily restricting accounts that were found to be associated with the use of GB WhatsApp. It has even issued a warning to users, stating that anyone found using such “unsupported version of WhatsApp” will face a temporary ban from the original app.
