In Ghaziabad, a wife allegedly caught her husband shopping with his girlfriend on Karwa Chauth, and ended up beating them up. The viral video of the incident shows the wife beating up her husband red and blue.
Following the incident, the cops charged the husband with breach of peace while her wife was released with a warning. While it couldn’t be independently verified, local reports have also claimed that the married woman used chappal against her allegedly cheating husband.
The viral video of the incident shows a large crowd gathered around to catch the dramatic events. The wife and some other women are seen grabbing the husband by his collar and beating him up relentlessly.
Meanwhile, when the man’s alleged girlfriend tries to come to his rescue, she too is beaten up by the wife and other women. A man can be heard saying ‘bahar, bahar’ (out, out), demanding the group of women to take the matter outside his shop.
According to reports, the married woman in question had been living with her mother following a dispute with the husband. On the occasion of Karwa Chauth, she went to a market in Ghaziabad with her mother, when she spotted her husband with another woman.
Karwa Chauth is celebrated primarily in northern India where women observe a fast for the long life of their husbands.
The Facts of the Matter
On a day known for women fasting for their husband’s long life, a woman found her husband shopping with his girlfriend.
While this may sound like a setup for a popcorn-munching film, this really happened earlier on Thursday, on the occasion of Karwa Chauth. In true Ghaziabad fashion, the wife who caught her husband red-handed, beat him and his girlfriend up.
The woman’s hardcore beating was caught on video, visuals of which are going viral on social media.
What Does the Video Show
In the video gone viral, a man can be seen being surrounded by swarms of people. The man’s wife and other two women thrash the man. They grab his husband and continue beating him as the bystanders simply catch the drama without intervening. Soon, the man’s alleged girlfriend tries to intervene. However, she too gets thrashed by the women. Meanwhile, a shopkeeper, who is irate that the brawl is happening in his shop, can be heard screaming ‘bahar, bahar’ (out, out).

Cops Intervene
Following the incident, the matter came to its sour conclusion at the Kotwali station. Anshu Jain, Circle Officer, was quoted in an India Today report saying, “We reached Kotwali as soon as we got the news of the incident happening, there we discovered that a man & woman was beaten by ladies.”
“Out of those ladies, one was that man’s wife. She was hitting her husband because he was shopping with his girlfriend in Karwa Chauth,” he added.
Husband Charged with “Breach of Peace”
Local reports stated that the married woman also used chappals (sandals) against the husband, however this couldn’t be independently verified from the video. The husband, who was caught-red handed, and beaten up in public, was charged with breach of peace. Meanwhile, her wife was released with a warning.
As per reports, the married woman had been living away from her husband due to some dispute. On Karwa Chauth, both the parties came independently to the Ghaziabad market where the wife spotted the husband with his girlfriend.
