The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Gorakhpur University and the government Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog will set up a Kamadhenu Chair and an examination centre on the University campus. They will send invites to universities, faculties, scientists and gaushalas in Uttar Pradesh to carry out research on cow and cow-related products.

DDU will inaugurate the chair and the centre during an international seminar on 10th – 12th February. February 11 is observed as the death anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyay, an Indian politician and thinker of right-wing Hindutva ideology.

On Wednesday, the Vice-Chancellor of DDU Gorakhpur University Professor Rajesh Singh said that 15-20 universities, 15-20 colleges, large gaushalas will be invited for research. The aim of establishing the study centre is to promote scientific research on cow, cow milk and cow-related products as well as create jobs in the region.

The university authorities will also provide educational and training modules to raise awareness about the importance of cows.

Chairman of the Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog Vallabhbhai Katheria said that “godhan” is the “rashtradhan” (i.e. cow is a national wealth). He also claimed that A2 milk found in the Indian cow breed is more superior to A1 milk found in international cattle breeds. And the different products obtained from cow’s milk such as ghee are more beneficial.

The Government of India has constituted the Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog in February 2019. Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog aims to protect cows and their progenies, to improve their breeds and to prohibit the slaughter of cows and calves.

Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog will also conduct an online examination “Kamdhenu Gau Vigyan Prachar Prasar Pariksha” all over India on 25th February. There is no fee for the cow science exam. The exam will be conducted in 12 languages to spread awareness about the importance of cows among students and people. The registration link for this online exam will be available  on
