In incidents that can be labelled ‘Gurugram Horror’, a 14-year-old minor, and a 2-year-old baby girl, were raped in two separate incidents, with probe being initiated in both the incidents. While the 2-year-old baby girl victim is the daughter of a domestic help, the 14-year-old minor victim is a class 8 student of a government high school. In both the cases, no arrests have been made so far.
A two-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped inside an apartment complex in Sector 81, as reported by the police. The incident occurred on Saturday around 2 pm when the girl’s parents were out working. The girl’s mother, a domestic help, found her daughter in a pool of blood and raised an alarm. The girl was rushed to Civil Hospital and later referred to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital, where she is currently in a stable condition.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Manesar) Manbir Singh confirmed that the police are investigating the matter, and they have not ruled out a possibility of a rape.
In a separate incident, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped in Gurugram, and raped by 3 minor boys. As per reports, the victim was threatened by the three accused of making the video of the crime go viral on social media.
Based on the respective complaints, the police have registered cases under multiple sections of IPC.
The Facts of the Matter
Over the past eight years, Haryana has seen a significant increase of 65 percent in rape cases. In 2021, the state recorded 1,546 cases related to rape, compared to 944 cases in 2014. The number of rape cases reported from 2014 to 2017 remained constant, but there was a notable surge in cases from 2018 to 2021.
As per data, Gurugram led the shameful list, with as many as 212 rape cases in state followed by Faridabad (135 cases).
The state reported two more incidents recently, with a two-and-a-half year old baby girl allegedly being raped, and a 14-year-old minor being kidnapped and gang-raped by minor accused.

Two-and-a-half-Year-Old Allegedly Raped
In a disturbing incident, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl was reportedly sexually assaulted by an unidentified person inside an apartment complex in Sector 81. The police stated that the child sustained serious injuries in her private parts and was immediately taken to Civil Hospital. However, due to the severity of her condition, she was referred to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital. Thankfully, her condition is now stable.

Victim Daughter of Domestic Help
The alleged incident occurred on Saturday at around 2 pm inside the girl’s home. The apartment is reserved for families belonging to the economic weaker section (EWS), and the girl’s parents rent it. At the time of the incident, the child’s mother, who works as a domestic help, and father were both away at work.
Mother Found Baby Victim in Pool of Blood
Dinesh Pratap Singh, a resident of the apartment complex and a social activist, reported that the child’s mother found her daughter in a pool of blood and immediately raised the alarm. Other residents quickly gathered at the scene, and the police were informed. CCTV footage from the complex has been collected to identify the perpetrator.
14-Year-old Kidnapped, Gang-Raped by Minor Accused
In a separate incident reported from Gurugarm’s Sohna area, a class 8 student was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three youths. The incident took place earlier on December 18, and the victim was threatened by the accused of leaking the video of the crime if she raised an alert or took to the police.
The accused have been identified and they remain absconding.
Accused Minor, Took The Victim to a Hilly Area
The matter came to the fore after the victim’s father took to the police and filed a complaint. As per the complaint, the incident took place during a sports programme where three youths, Mayank, Harish and Gaurav, abducted the victim and took her to a hilly area, where they took turns raping her.
The accused also took a disturbing video of the incident and used it later to threaten the victim.
Based on the complaint, the case was registered under multiple sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
