In a horrifying news from Gurugram, a woman was allegedly beaten up in a shared auto by a bank executive after she objected him of smoking. Reportedly, the woman alleged that the man punched her in the face when she pulled the cigarette out of the man’s mouth and threw it.
The alleged accused and the victim were identified as Vasu Singh and Suman Lata respectively. While Vasu is a Faridabad resident, Lata is a Wazirabad resident. After the incident, Lata was reported to be recovering in hospital.
The incident, as per the victim’s complaint, allegedly took place earlier on Monday evening. Lata works at a hospital in Gurugram and was returning from her workplace in a shared auto after her shift. According to a Mid-Day report, the accused was first arrested but was released on bail after he agreed to join the investigation.
The Facts of the Matter
Rage followed by violence shows its depraved face at the strangest of places. A woman working in Gurugram fell victim of the rage of a man who got enraged at her after she asked him to stop smoking. The incident occurred earlier on Monday and the alleged victim filed a complaint following the incident.
The accused was identified as Vasu Singh, a resident of Faridabad’s Ballabhgarh while the victim was identified as Suman Lata, a Wazirabad resident. Lata, reportedly works at a private hospital in Gurugram. According to reports, earlier on Monday, the victim left for her home and took a shared auto. It so happened that a couple got into the shared cab when the auto reached Greenwood City.

Victim Pulled Cigarette Out of Accused’s Mouth
Lata in her complaint said that the man was smoking and continued to do so after getting in the auto. When she asked the man to stop smoking, the man dismissed her objection and continued smoking. This is when Lata pulled the cigarette from the man’s mouth and threw it outside.
Bank Executive Punches Woman Twice, Left Her with Bleeding Nose
The man, who was already angered by Lata’s objection, was left infuriated at her actions. He reportedly punched Lata twice on her face. He reportedly left her with a bleeding nose and further hurled abuses at her. This is when the auto driver stopped his vehicle and Lata took to her family and later informed the police.

Accused Booked, Arrested, Released on Bail
The police rushed to the spot and after initial investigation, arrested the accused. Vasu Singh was booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code at the Sector 50 police station. This included Section 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), Section 325 (Punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt), and Section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
According to sub-inspector Amit Kumar, who is involved in the case, the accused agreed to join the investigation. He was reportedly released on bail after his agreement of taking part in the investigation.
Delhi Mother-Daughter Duo Were Thrashed Earlier
Earlier in December 2021, a group of men and women brutally thrashed a woman with iron rods and also assaulted her daughter. The incident was reported from Delhi and occurred at Shalimar Bagh. The entire ordeal was caught on CCTV.

The CCTV footage showed two women thrashing the mother-daughter duo after the duo stepped out of their car. A few men join the show of violence and relentlessly assaulted the victims. After the incident, the victims alleged that the attack was carried out by Aam Aadmi Party supporters. The victim alleged that the attackers were the supporters of AAP MLA Bandana Kumari.
