Haryana police have charged former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh for making ‘objectionable remarks’ against a particular caste. An FIR is registered against the Indian all-rounder Yuvraj in Haryana over ‘disrespectful’ and ‘casteist’ comments he made on the Dalit community while talking about Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

The FIR comes 8 months after a Haryana lawyer Rajat Kalsan filed a complaint against Yuvraj for his distasteful comments. Kalsan in his complaint also asked the Haryana police to arrest Yuvraj Singh for his remarks.

Yuvraj refers Yuzi and Kuldeep Yadav as B***gi

Yuvraj has found himself in a legal soup due to an Instagram live session with actor Rohit Sharma in which he made derogatory comments against the Dalit community. In the Instagram live session, Yuvraj talked about Chahal’s TikTok videos and said: “Yeh b***gi log ko kaam nahi hai yeh Yuzi aur isko (Kuldeep).”

To this Rohit sharma replied, “Yuzi ko dekha kya video daala hai apni family ke saath. Maine usko wahi bola ki apne baap ko nacha raha hai, pagal toh nahi hai tu.”

After the live session, Yuvraj had to deal with a lot of criticism from Indian fans. The clip of the conversation went viral on social media with the hashtag #YuvrajSinghMaafiMango leading the trending topics on Twitter.

Later, Yuvraj issued an apology by taking to Twitter and said that he was sorry for “unintentionally hurting the sentiments” of a community of people. The Indian all-rounder in his apology highlighted that the conversation with his teammate was misunderstood. “I understand that while I was having a conversation with my friends, I was misunderstood, which was unwarranted.”

Yuvraj ended the apology by saying, “my love for India and all its people is eternal.”
