On September 8, reports broke which claimed that ‘Hindi Medium’ actress Saba Qamar was slammed with arrest warrant for constantly missing hearings.
The actress, along with popular Pakistan singer Bilal Saeed, are involved in a case pertaining to disrespecting sanctity of a Mosque. The duo had allegedly shot a video in a Mosque in Lahore which led to widespread opposition by masses in Pakistan.

The Pakistan’s Lahore district court issued arrest warrant against popular actress Saba Qamar for missing out on multiple court hearings. Saba was not alone in being issued the warrant as singer Bilal Saeed too was rapped by the court by being served arrest warrant. It should be noted that the arrest warrants for both the singer and the actress are bailable in nature.
The bails for both the singer and the actress are set at Rs. 30,000.

The Facts of the Matter
It should be noted that both Saba and Bilal had missed multiple court hearings in a case related to a dance shoot that took place at a Lahore based Mosque. The case goes back to 2020 when the Saba and Bilal both received criticism for the same, and were booked by the police.
Earlier in August 2020, Bilal Saeed, Saba Qamar and the Lahore’s historic Masjid Wazir Khan were part of a controversy. It so happened that the Chief Minister of Pakistan’s province of Usman Buzdar’s attention was brought to a music video. The music video was allegedly shot on the iconic Lahore mosque’s premise.
“Mosque is holiest place, Can’t allow…”
The Chief Minister of the province was also quoted in a Dawn report floating a handout which read, “The mosque is the holiest place and no one can be allowed to trample upon its sanctity. Whosoever is found responsible will not be spared.”
The Chief Minister also dismissed the manager of the province and ordered a comprehensive report on the ordeal. CM Usman also promised that the iconic mosque’s sanctity would not be violated.

Saba & Bilal Go Viral on Twitter, Saba Clears the Air
Meanwhile, Saba and Bilal found themselves amid the eye of a controversial storm. On Twitter, both Bilal and Saba became the top hashtag trends on Pakistan’s national trend feed. The actress had ultimately taken to Twitter to clear the air.
“Only one sequence was shot in the mosque which was a prologue to the music video featuring a Nikah scene. It was neither shot with any sort of playback music nor has it been edited to the music track,” Saba had tweeted.

In a separate tweet, Saba apologized for “unknowingly” hurting people’s religious sentiments. “Despite this if we have unknowingly hurt anyone’s sentiments we apologize to you all with all our heart. Love & Peace!”, the Hindi Medium actress had tweeted.

Saba’s Turbulent Year So Far
Earlier in April this year, Saba Qamar had made all the buzz after calling off her wedding with Azeem Khan. Khan is a Pakistani entrepreneur based in Australia. Taking to her Instagram, Saba penned a heartfelt message, seeking approval from her fans.

“We Are Not Getting Married”: Saba Calls Marriage Off
In the Instagram post, Saba claimed that she had only spoken to Azeem on phone and had never met him. In her post, Saba wrote, “Due to a lot of personal reasons I have decided to call it off with Azeem Khan, ‘WE ARE NOT GETTING MARRIED NOW’ hope you guys will support my decision just like you all have been supporting me always, and I guess it’s never too late to realize the bitter realities!”
It should be noted that Azeem and Saba both never disclosed the reason for calling it quits. However, it was widely speculated that Saba had to make the decision after a woman had earlier accused her fiance of sexual harrasment.
