In the relentless Mumbai monsoons, hundreds of people rushed to help Mika Singh at 3 AM in the night after his car broke down due to rain. The entire ordeal was caught on video and gives a testament of the popularity the Bollywood singer enjoys. The video shows a swarm of people gathered round Mika’s Hummer. The Punjabi singer also expressed his appreciation and gratitude in the video.

The Mumbai monsoons are infamous for shaking up the entire coastal financial hub of the country. From the 2004 floods, to the subsequent monsoons that the city faced, several people face adverse effects of the monsoons. While the common misconception is such that famous celebrities sit in their ivory tower without facing any challenges, a recent incident challenges that notion.

Mika Singh Gets Lucky – Finds Help at Wee Hours

On Sunday, the car of popular Bollywood singer and actor Mika Singh broke down on the waterlogged Mumbai streets. However, the stars of the singer were aligned such that he received the help of several people who gathered at wee hours of the night and got him out of the situation.

Viral Bhayani makes Mika Go Viral

The entire incident was caught in a video and popular celebrity paparazzi Viral Bhayani took to Instagram to share what all that happened.

According to the video shared by Viral, Mika and his long-time rumoured girlfriend, actress Akanksha Puri were seen in the former’s car, a Hummer. In the background of the video, a man can be heard saying.

“Jab Mika paji ki car band hoti hai, toh itne log help karne aate hai (when Mika’s car breaks down, so many people come together to help him).”

“Kum se kum 200 log hai”

The man then takes the video camera to Mika – who’s riding on the driver’s seat and Akanksha riding shotgun. The man asks Mika for comment and the singer can be heard saying, “Kum se kum 200 log hai (there are at least 200 people)”, and then applauds for the people gathered around him as a sign of appreciation and gratitude. The man who’s recording the video can be heard saying, “Raat ko 3 baje guys (At 3 AM guys).”

CM Uddhav Thackeray Takes Stock of Situation

On Sunday, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray took an assessment of the rain-battered Mumbai. In his meeting, he took stock of the preparedness levels by the City’s agency to handle the consistent rains and its consequences.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department, Mumbai will continue to witness the severe rainfall as a wet spell is in the cards for the upcoming days. Currently, an orange alert has been issued in Mumbai coast.

In his meeting with agencies, CM Thackeray asked the agencies to continue being vigilant and keep a special watch on regions that are prone to calamities such as landslides. The agencies have also been instructed to keep an eye on decayed building that may be prone to crumble due to severe flooding.

Death Toll Rises to 31

Meanwhile, the death-toll in casualties related to Mumbai monsoons have now risen to as high as 31 deaths. While 19 people lost their lives in an incident in Chembur, 10 people died in a landslide at Vikhroli. In multiple instances of house crumbling and electrocution, 2 people lost their lives.
