After ICSI Company Secretary 2021’s results were announced, Indore’s Shruti Nagar spoke to various news platforms and shared the tips she used to get all India rank 1. The result of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) Company Secretary (CS) final exam for both the old and new syllabus (professional & executive programmes) released earlier on February 5.

For the New Syllabus it was Indore based Shruti Nagar that emerged as topper. She was closely followed by Hari Haran and Jyoti Ashok Kumar Shah. Meanwhile, in the old syllabus, Aditya Soni secured the first rank while Shivanandan DA and Urvishkumar Karathiya achieved the second and third rank.

Speaking to Daink Bhaskar, Shruti Nagar said that a combination of guidance from family and multiple revisions of subjects helped her to secure the AIR 1. She also added that she prepared for the exams with the aim to secure the first rank.

The Facts of the Matter

On Friday, the cleanest city of Indore got one more reason to celebrate after its resident Shruti Nagar received an all-India rank 1 in the ICSI CS professional programme (new syllabus). The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) held the company secretary (CS) professional and executive programme exams earlier in December. The professional programme exams were held from December 21 to December 30, 2021.

After securing the first rank among all students across the nation, Shruti Nagar spoke to various news outlets to share her journey, preparation and tips to fellow aspirants and their parents. A resident of Hi Link City, her father is a manager in a private company while her mother is a professor.

Her brother meanwhile is a chartered accountant. She’s currently in the final year of her BCom at the Shri Cloth Market Kanya Vanijya Mahavidyalaya, Indore.

ICSI CS AIR 1 Shruti Nagar Shares Journey to Excellence

Speaking to Dainik Bhaskar, Ms. Nagar shared that she prepared for the exams with the aim of securing the first rank. She claimed that about three months before the exams, she tried to give each subject equal amount of time, and hence, ended up studying at least 12-13 hours a day.

Having the aim of securing first all India rank helped her to increase her focus with more purpose and give appropriate time and importance to each subject.

Took Guidance of CA, Parents Kept Her Motivated

In her interview, Ms. Nagar also shared how her parents and family were by her side throughout her preparation with their guidance and motivation. Due to COVID-19, she was forced to stay home for her preparation. However, she made sure that she took help from her teachers through video calls. As her brother is a chartered accountant, she occasionally took his help as well during her preparation.

Revising Each Subject Thrice

To give all 9 subjects equal about of focus and time, Shruti divided each subject into several chapters and topics and then prepared accordingly. This made sure that she got enough time to revise each subject multiple times. Further explaining her revision strategy, she said how she took 10 days for her first revision, 6 days for the second revision and 4 days for her last revision.
