Television actor Raj Anadkat, who gained popularity by playing the character of Tapu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, recently broke his silence regarding quitting the show.
Putting all the speculation to rest, Anadkat confirmed his association with the show has “officially ended”. The actor thanked his fans, co-actors, and the team of the popular show, in his heartfelt note.
Taking to Instagram, Anadkat shared a note which read – “Hello everyone, it’s time to lay all questions and speculation to rest. My association with Neela Film Productions and ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has officially ended. It has been a wonderful journey of learning, making friends and having some of the best years of my career.”
The actor concluded his announcement note with – “I wish the team of TMKOC all the very best for the future of the show. I’ll be back to entertain all of you very soon. Keep showering your love and support.”
For the unversed, Raj stepped in the shoes of Bhavya Gandhi, who played the character of Tapu, Jethalal’s son. Recently, the actor had been under public scrutiny after it was reported that he had not been coming to the set.
When asked about the same, he had said, “I am an expert in creating suspense.”

After months of ‘will-he-won’t-he’ speculation, Taarak Mehta.. actor Raj Anadkat recently took to Instagram, and finally broke his silence regarding his departure from the widely popular television show. Raj, who has been playing the role of Tapu, Jethalal’s son in the popular comedy show, had been part of the buzz after some reports surfaced earlier last month claiming that the actor may not continue with the show.

Everyone who welcomed me into the show and loved me as ‘TAPU’ Your love for my craft has always pushed me to give my best to each and every one of you, every single time.”

Raj also ended his note in an optimistic tone, saying “he’ll be back” to entertain his fans. “I wish the team of TMKOC all the very best for the future of the show. I’ll be back to entertain all of you very soon. Keep showering your love and support,” he wrote.

Raj had Created Suspense Around his Exit
The development comes months after Raj gave an ambiguous response when asked about his exit from the show. Speaking to Pinkvilla, the actor was quoted saying, “My fans, my audience, my well-wishers, they all know that I am very good in creating suspense. I am an expert in creating suspense. When the time is right, everyone will get to know.”
With over a three-and-a-half-thousand episode run, the show has been part of the buzz lately. Recently, fans of the show were stunned to find out actor Shailesh Lodha, who used to play the character of Taarak Mehta, had quit the show. The reason for Lodha’s exit was widely speculated but never officially confirmed.
