The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is just around the corner, and excitement is building for the tournament to be held in India starting October 8th. On Wednesday, fans got their first look at the bold new jersey design India will wear as they aim to lift the trophy for the third time.

In a video released by the BCCI, India’s kit manufacturer Adidas revealed a jersey with a twist – instead of the traditional three white stripes on the shoulders, this year’s design features three stripes in the colors of the Indian flag: saffron, white and green.

According to sources, this patriotic design is intended to tap into India’s quest to win their third ODI World Cup title. Led by captain Rohit Sharma and superstars like Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya, India will be one of the pre-tournament favorites on home soil.

Anthem Urges Team to Make Dream a Reality

The anthem accompanying the video, titled “Impossible Nahi Ye Sapna, 3 Ka Dream Hai Apna” urges the team to make the nation’s dream of a third World Cup title a reality after wins in 1983 and 2011. Fans on social media widely approved the new jersey, saying the tricolor stripes took it to another level.
