Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and his wife Sanjana Ganesan have welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Angad Jasprit Bumrah. The couple announced the happy news on Monday, September 4th.

Bumrah had taken leave from the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 to be with his wife for the birth of their son. He shared the news on Instagram along with an adorable picture of the family of three holding hands.

Bumrah-Sanjana’s Fairytale Romance

Bumrah and Sanjana, a renowned TV presenter, got married in March 2021 in a private ceremony in Goa. Their relationship was kept under wraps until their wedding pictures surfaced on the internet.

The couple’s teammates could not attend the wedding due to strict bio-bubble restrictions during the pandemic. Since then, Bumrah and Sanjana have shared snippets of their life together on social media. Sanjana even interviewed Bumrah during India’s 2021 England tour.

Bumrah’s Comeback From Injury

Bumrah was out of action for nearly a year due to a back injury that required surgery. He made a successful comeback against Ireland in a T20I series.

The pacer had played India’s first Asia Cup 2023 match against Pakistan but did not get to bowl as rain washed out the second innings. Bumrah is expected to rejoin the squad for the Super 4 stage.
