Unidentified Indian passengers were seen engaging in a brawl on the Thai Smile airways’ Bangkok-Kolkata flight, following which a probe was ordered. The incident came to the fore after a video of the brawl was shared on social media, visuals of which are going viral. According to reports, the all-out brawl between the Indian passengers, who were heard talking in Hindi, took place earlier on December 27 and Thai Smile airways has not issued a statement regarding the incident.
In the video gone viral, two Indian men are seen having a verbal spat as the crew tries to intervene. One man says ‘shanti se baith (sit quietly)’, to which the other person says, ‘hath neeche kar (get your hands down)’. All hell breaks lose as the verbal spat turns into a physical altercation with one passenger slapping the other.
The man removes his eyewear and hits the other man, and other passengers also join the brawl. Meanwhile, the second person simply tries to defend himself.
Following the incident, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security issued a statement which read – “We’ve taken note of the viral video, which shows a fight between passengers on a Thai Airways flight to Kolkata”. A report has been sought in the matter.
The incident comes days after the highly polarizing IndiGo crew’s argument with a passenger.
The Facts of the Matter
While majority of flights that take-off and land every day in an uneventful manner, there are instances where tempers flare, and sanity fails to prevail mid-air. In yet another such incident, some Indian passengers were seen engaging in a vicious brawl mid-air on the Thai Smile airways’ Bangkok-Kolkata flight.
The incident came to the fore after a social media user took to Twitter and shared the video of the incident.

What Does the Video Show?
The now gone viral video shows two Indian passengers arguing in Hindi as the crew aboard the Thai Smile airways try to calm the passengers. One passenger can be heard asking the other in Hindi to get his hands down while talking. The other person also replies in Hindi, and before one knows, the two sides indulge in a free-for-all vicious brawl. The passenger is joined by his friends, who also try to slap and beat down the other Indian passenger. Meanwhile, the other passenger simply tries to defend himself instead of retaliating.

Netizens Demand Strict Action
Following the incident, netizens on social media called out for the authorities to put the aggressor on the no fly list. “This person MUST BE IN NO FLY LIST, potential threat to anyone and everyone on board,” a Twitter user commented. “They should be permanently put on the no-fly list and passports confiscated forever. Period!”, another Twitter user chimed in.
Meanwhile, other Twitter users simply chose to make cheeky comments at the expense of the two men’s brawl.

Report Sought
Following the incident, a detailed report was sought by the authorities. Zulfiquar Hasan, DG of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, issued a statement which read – “We’ve taken note of the viral video, which shows a fight between passengers on a Thai Airways flight to Kolkata”, adding that he has sought for a detailed report in the matter.
The incident comes just weeks after the highly debated IndiGo airline scuffle.
IndiGo Scuffle
Earlier this month, another shocking video surfaced online, in which an airhostess from IndiGo was seen telling a passenger that she is not his “servant”. Further, the airhostess also asked the passenger to “shut up”, claiming that the passenger made one of the persons in the crew to “cry”.
