Preview

Both RR and SRH have had a disastrous first phase of the IPL 2021. RR has won only 2 off its 6 matches while SRH has won only 1. SRH is currently sitting at the deepest bottom of the table and RR is taking some consolation by being one place above it, at 7th.

Sunrisers were very recently trumped by MSD’s Chennai Super Kings. The defeat was its second consecutive one and fifth in the tournament. Although the team was a favorite of many, it has lacked consistency and has not found one match-winning player this year.

On the other end sits Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals that suffered an excruciating defeat against Mumbai Indians. RR’s issue is the team’s reliance on Sanju Samson’s batting. If the team can find its rhythm, it can redeem itself.

Preview

In the 2021 edition of the IPL, DC has come out as a formidable side. Even with the absence of Shreyas Iyer, the youngster captain Rishabh Pant led team is sitting comfortably in the 2nd position of the table with 5 wins in its 7 games so far. The team must be in high spirits after defeating a star-studded Kolkata Knight Riders in its last game.

What has been working so well-so far with DC is the opening duo of Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw. Both are currently in the list of the highest run scorers this season. With the opening pair working so well, no wonder team’s captain Pant inserts its opposition to bat first.

In the meantime, Punjab Kings have been having a topsy turvy outing this season. In its 7 games so far, the team has won 3 but lost 4 games and is sitting in the middle of the table, at the 5th position. Earlier this week though, the Punjab Kings found its rhythm and found themselves defeating the formidable Virat Kohli-led RCB.

Thanks to the performances of skipper KL Rahul, Harpreet Brar, Chris Gayle and an odd Shahrukh Khan, the team has placed itself in a position where it won’t be taken lightly. However, the team also has its weak spots. Nicholas Pooran has been perishing for ducks in consecutive games and Deepak Hooda has been inconsistent to say the least. Yet, Punjab can be considered a side with ample resources that can pull an upset any day.
