After days of preparations, Indian cricketer KL Rahul and long-time girlfriend Athiya Shetty got married on Monday, June 23. Suneil Shetty’s daughter Athiya and Indian cricketer KL Rahul got married in Athiya’s father Suneil Shetty’s luxurious farmhouse in Khandala. Since the morning, paparazzi’s have been flooding social media with various pictures of the wedding preparations, the venue, and even the glimpse of the groom sitting in a luxury car.

Earlier last year, Suneil had given an extensive look of the wedding venue in a YouTube show called ‘Where the Heart Is’. The sprawling farmhouse, is situated on a verdant hilltop, and comprises of large infinity pool, lush patios, high-ceiling with contrasts of forest green and brown, wooden flooring and ample spaces for sunlight to keep the place warm and bright.

Earlier today, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn took to Twitter and shared a congratulatory tweet for the lovebirds. “Congratulations to my dear friends @SunielVShetty & #ManaShetty for their daughter @theathiyashetty’s marriage to @klrahul. Here’s wishing the young couple a blissful married life.  And, Anna, here’s a special shout-out to you on this auspicious occasion,” the tweet read.

A day before the wedding, Suneil was caught posing for the paps, thanking them for their good wishes. “Aa rahe hain… Kal leke aata hoon mai unko… bachcho ko (Athiya and KL Rahul)”, he said.

The Facts of the Matter

2023’s first big-fat Indian wedding is in full swing, with Indian star cricketer KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty tying the knot earlier on Monday. The couple hosted a grand wedding at Athiya’s father, and famous Bollywood actor Suneil Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala. According to reports, KL’s baraat arrived at the venue sometime around 2.30 pm and the couple exchanged vows sometime around 4 pm.

Twitter Flooded with KL Rahul’s Sangeet Videos

The festivities were kicked off earlier on Sunday as pictures and small clips started flooding social media, showing the beautiful decorations done for the couple’s sangeet. The family hosted a cocktail night and sangeet ceremony which was only attended by family members and some close friends.

Visuals showing the decked-up farmhouse also showed party songs playing at the sangeet ceremony including “Besharam Rang” from the upcoming film Pathaan. As per reports, the couple’s family had a ‘no phone policy’ and guests were apparently told to not share pictures and videos online.

Suneil Shetty Meets Media Before Wedding

Earlier on Sunday, Suneil Shetty was seen addressing the media gathered outside the venue. Thanking them, the actor said that he will make sure that the couple poses after the wedding, and said that he will be bringing them tomorrow.

Wedding Attendees Caught on Cam

On the wedding day, paps were able to catch glimpses of some of the wedding attendees. This included KL Rahul’s mother, Rajeshwari Lokesh, arriving at the venue in a luxurious Rolls Royce car. Other attendees included fellow cricketer KL Rahul, actor Diana Penty, and more.

If reports are to be believed, the couple will host a grand reception in Mumbai in the coming weeks. As many as 3000 guests are expected to attend the reception with celebrities like Sha Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and many more will make their presence felt.
