Japanese Man Arrested for Calling Cops 2,060 Times in 9 Days Only to Abuse & Shout at Them

A Japanese man was recently arrested for calling the cops as many as 2,060 times in a short span of 9 days, only to abuse and shout at the cops. The 67-year-old man in the matter was obviously not too fond of the cops and the police system in his area, and thus, decided to lash out at them on calls and calling them thousands of times in less than two weeks. Frustrated with the abusive calls, the cops finally arrested him.

The incident was reported from Japan’s Kawagachi, a city located in Saitama Prefecture, and the Japanese man in question made the abusive calls between September 30 and October 8. The police department, which receives one call in at least six minutes, wasted 27 hours on the phone with the angry Japanese man.

The 67-year-old arrested man rang the cops and called them “tax thieves”, “big stupid a******s”, and similar abusive slangs. The cops claim that as the man forced them to waste 27 hours on him, he is guilty of obstructing police business.

After being arrested earlier on November 28, the man was taken into questioning, where he admitted to his actions. “I knew the police would come for me someday,” he had said, after getting arrested.

Cops across the world receive various calls regarding law-and-order situation in their respective regions. From heinous crimes like murder, to emergencies like fire and robberies, cops to this day continue to receive alerts on phone calls. So, it would be understandable that they would want to arrest a man, who wasted their precious time on phone, by calling them only to shout and abuse.

In Japan, a 67-year-old man, frustrated with the cops, and general law-and-order situation, called the local police as many as 2,060 times in 9 days.

His calls were mostly him abusing the cops, and shouting at them – without seeking any help or assistance.

Japanese Man Calls Cops “Tax Thieves”

Between September 30 and October 8, the Kawagachi-based 67-year-old man ranged the local cops, and called them “big stupid a******s”, and “tax thieves”. The police department, which receives one call every six minutes, were reportedly made to waste their 27 hours on phone with the 67-year-old man.

Cops Wasted 27 Hours on Phone

As the man wasted their 27 hours on phone, the cops deemed him guilty of obstructing police business. Earlier on November 28, the 67-year-old man was arrested and taken into questioning where he admitted to his actions. “I knew the police would come for me someday,” he told the cops, after being arrested.

Was in Habit of Making Such Calls for Years

When the local police analysed his call records in detail, they realized that the man had made similar calls for years. However, in the past few months, he had increased the frequency of his calls to the cops and started harassing them to an extent where action could be taken on him.

Japanese Man Calls Phone Company 24,000 Times in 8 Days

It should be noted that this is not the first time a Japanese man got arrested for making thousands of abusive calls. Earlier in 2019, 71-year-old Akitoshi Okamoto was arrested for making shocking number of calls. Over a period of merely 8 days, Akitoshi made as many as 24,000 calls to his phone company for allegedly violating his contract.
