Just a day after Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp suffered massive outages, Jio Network Down is trending on Twitter after user complained on facing issues. Users can’t text or call as per the complaints raised.

At the time of writing this (3.33 PM) people were still experiencing issues. The network issues were raised on the morning of October 6.

India’s largest network provider Reliance Jio has always taken pride in having the most number of subscribers. According to the TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) data, Jio network showed a subscriber base of a whopping 414.9 million in February.

However, even the giants are known to falter. Since the morning of October 6, the network provider has been facing issues with its network. The huge subscriber base has taken to Twitter to express their displeasure.

The Facts of the Matter

No, it’s not just you. Jio Network seems to be down for hundreds of thousands of India spread across multiple states. Downdetector, a service that keeps a tab on the activity/inactivity of a particular platform has been consistently showing a spike in user complaints. Most of the complaints involve users not being able to send or receive texts, and even call anyone.

If one looks at the chart available at downdetector.in, services of Jio Network were working just fine till 9 AM, Wednesday morning. Since then, the graph shows a huge spike in thousands of complaints. The peak of the graph was at 11.09 AM, and since then, the numbers of issues being raised have slowed down.

Another important aspect of the outage is the kinds of service interruption that is being reported. As per downdetctor.in, 39% of the people have reported not being able to get any signal. 35% of the complaints have been about not being able to connect to internet, while 26% of the complaints have been about a total blackout.

What Does Jio Say about the Issue?

Meanwhile, if one looks at Twitter, the timeline of tweets around hashtag #jiodown suggests that the issues have persisted since the morning. The official customer support handle of Jio on Twitter is riddled with complaints regarding network issues.

The handle is primarily giving these users a single generic response which states – “We understand the inconvenience you are facing. You may face intermittent problem in using internet services and making or receiving Calls/SMS. This is temporary & our teams are working on the same to resolve it as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

What Can I Do About the Issue?

Be patient. As of now, there’s no fix that’s been released by Jio Network and the company is claiming that it’s working to resolve the outage.

However, if you want to not miss out on your important work calls, the one thing you can do is find a hotspot connection around you. Obviously, you’ll have to find someone who’s not on Jio Network. Connect your phone with the hotspot and make phone calls from your WhatsApp account.
