A Kerala family has used technology and innovative ideas to keep their 26-year-old dead son’s memories alive. They have put a QR code on the tomb of their son for visitors to look back at the happy albeit small life their son lived. The incident was reported from Thrissur, Kerala and the parents in question put up the QR code for their 26-year-old deceased son Dr Iwin Francis.

Dr. Iwin Francis, a talented musician and athlete, passed away at the young age of 26 while playing badminton. In honor of his life and achievements, his family decided to place a QR code on his tombstone at St. Joseph Church in Kuriyachira, Thrissur, Kerala. The QR code, which leads to a web page containing all of his works, was designed by his family and linked to the QR code.

The page showcases his music performances and sports accomplishments, allowing people to relive and reminisce on the creative work of Dr. Iwin Francis. The idea of placing the QR code on his tomb was suggested by his sister, Evelyn Francis, who believed that it was a more fitting tribute than just writing something about him on the tombstone.

The doting family hopes that the QR code will serve as a motivation and that it will keep the memory of their son alive.

Parents Honor Son’s Memory in Unique Way

This QR code would allow anyone who scanned it to relive and reminisce on Iwin’s creative works, including videos of his musical performances.

The webpage showcased Iwin’s photographs, his programs at college, his friends’ circle, and his keyboard and guitar performances, among other details.

Father Gives Insight into Idea

“My daughter told me that just writing something about Iwin on the tomb will not be sufficient to portray what all he did. We thought he may not be satisfied with just that,” Iwin’s father Francis was quoted saying.

“She created the site and QR code and asked me whether that could be printed on the marble tomb. So I asked the maker, and he said it can be printed,” he added.

The story of Iwin Francis is a heartwarming reminder of the power of creativity and inspiration, even in the face of tragedy.
