In the Kerala human sacrifice case, police have suspected the accused couple to have eaten the flesh of women victims.
The otherwise calm and serene hamlet in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala has been rocked to the core and ripples of shock have triggered panic among locals. A day after the police arrested Bhagval Singh and his wife Laila, it is now being suspected that the couple indulged into cannibalism.
Meanwhile, the magistrate court in Kerala have remanded three accused persons in the heinous murder of two women in the name of “human sacrifice”. The accused include Bhagval Singh, Laila, and Mohammed Shafi, allegedly the mastermind who convinced the couple to lure the victims and kill them. As such, Shafi is the first accused while Bhagvanth and Laila are the second and third accused.
A Times of India Report quoted Kochi commissioner CH Nagaraju saying, “There’s a possibility that the accused ate parts of body after killing the victims. It is being investigated, but not confirmed yet. We are investigating whether there are more accused and if more such cases happened.”
“It is cruelty which cannot be spoken about. It is a cruel method that they have adopted. It is better not to talk about it,” he added.
Reportedly, Shafi has as many as 10 cases, including rape, theft and attempt to murder, registered against him.
The Facts of the Matter
In its investigation regarding the murder of two women as part of “human sacrifice”, the Kerala police earlier on Wednesday told media that the three accused consumed flesh of their victims.
Earlier on Tuesday, the cops arrested Bhagval Singh, his wife Laila, and a Muhammed Shafi alias Rasheed in their involvement in the murders of Rosly, Padmam, who were reported missing. Following the arrest, the accused were presented before the magistrate court, and were taken into 14 days of custody.

Shafi Alias Rashid Named Primary Accused
As Shafi was the one who convinced the couple to murder the two victims, and lured the victims, he has been named the primary accused, while Bhagval Singh and his wife are the second and third accused.
According to remand report, Shafi was the conspirator who planned and executed the killings of the two women, 49-year-old Rosly, and 52-year-old Padmam. The victims worked as lottery ticket sellers to earn a living.
The Hair-Raising Crime
Shafi allegedly convinced the couple to kill the two women for “appeasing the goddess of financial prosperity”. Meanwhile, he took the victims to Bhagval Singh’s home offering them money for sex work. After the victims were brought to the home, the accused tied them down, tortured them and murdered them.

How the Accused Brainwashed Kerala Couple
As per Kochi commissioner CH Nagaraju, Shafi is a “psychopath and pervert” who planned and executed the murders for his own pleasures. He got into Bhagval Singh’s contact through Facebook profile with the name ‘Sreedevi’.
Over the course of four years, the accused worked on influencing and brainwashing the couple so that they would do anything asked of them.

Accused Suspected of Cannibalism
As per the remand report, Laila beheaded Rosly while Shafi stabbed the other victim, Padmam. The accused chopped their victims’ bodies into multiple parts and buried them in multiple pits.
As per commissioner Nagaraju, there’s a possibility that the accused indulged in cannibalism and ate different parts of their bodies.
Reportedly, the main accused Shafi has as many as 10 cases registered against him including rape, theft and attempt to murder.
