In a heartbreaking incident reported from Kerala, a man was seen on cam kicking a 6-year-old migrant boy for simply leaning on his car and touching it. The man was later arrested after the video of his questionable actions surfaced on social media. The incident was reported from Kannur’s Thalassery and occurred earlier on Thursday.

CCTV footage surfacing on social media showed the 6-year-old boy simply leaning against an already parked car on a busy road. The driver of the car gets out of the car, exchanges words with the young boy and then kicks him brutally on the chest. The boy is seen moving away from the vehicle due to the shocking assault, while the man simply gets in the car he had parked.

As per an Indian Express report, the local police had known about the matter since Thursday, when it happened. However, after the video of the CCTV footage went viral, they took cognizance of the matter, and arrested the accused. The accused has been identified as 21-year-old Shihshad, while the 6-year-old boy hails from Rajasthan.

Kerala Minister for Health and Family Welfare Veena George was quoted saying, “The boy was seriously injured in the attack. His family came from Rajasthan to eke out a living. He was attacked without any provocation.”

The Facts of the Matter

While elitists have often gotten away with their atrocities against people from unprivileged communities and minorities, thanks to CCTV footages and social media, they are now being called out for their actions. Recently, several incidents of security guards being slapped and thrashed around by residents of high-rise societies in NCR have emerged on social media, causing much outrage.

Meanwhile, a similar incident of attack against a migrant young boy was reported from Kerala’s Kannur.

In Kannur’s Thalassery, a young man was caught on CCTV kicking a 6-year-old migrant boy in the chest. The young boy’s fault? He simply leaned on the man’s car and touched it when it was parked. The man’s shocking actions were caught on cam, following which, cognizance was taken against him.

What Does the Video Show?

The video of the incident shows a young boy leaning against a parked car next to a busy street. Suddenly, a man dressed in black shirt and blue jeans gets out of the car, and kicks the boy hard on his chest, forcing the boy to back off in sudden shock. While the young boy moves away without meeting the eyes of his assaulter, the accused man simply gets in the parked car.

6-Year-Old Ganesh Hails from Rajasthan

As per an Indian Express report, the cops in area were aware of the ordeal on the day it happened. However, after the CCTV footage of the incident surfaced on social media, the accused was slapped with unbailable charges and was arrested. The accused has been identified as Ponnyampalam native Shihshad while the 6-year-old boy who was attacked was identified as Ganesh.

Ganesh hails from Rajasthan, and has been in the state with his family for jobs.

Accused Charged with Attempt to Murder

As per Malyalam daily Mathrubhumi, people who witnessed the inhumane act of Shihshad confronted him. However, Shihshad tried to justify himself, and left the place He has been booked under multiple sections of IPC, including attempt to murder.

Welfare Commissions Condemn the Incident

Following the incident, Kerala Minister for Health and Family Welfare Veena George, was quoted by an Indian Express report saying, “The director of the social welfare department was asked to probe and submit a report. The boy was seriously injured in the attack. His family came from Rajasthan to eke out a living. He was attacked without any provocation.”

Meanwhile, Commission for Protection of Child Rights chairman KV Manoj Kuma said that the commission would intervene, and if needed, arrangements will be made to provide medical aid to the young boy.
