In a shocking incident reported from Kolkata, a man was held for allegedly sacrificing the minor daughter of a couple’s neighbour’s, in order to prevent another miscarriage of the woman. The incident was reported from Tiljala in South Kolkata, and came to the fore after locals discovered the body of the 7-year-old deceased girl stuffed in a jute sack, with several fatal injuries all over her body, including her head.
The accused, Alok Kumar, was allegedly instructed to sacrifice a child by a local occultist in order to ensure his pregnant wife delivered a healthy child. The girl’s body was found in the same building from which she had been abducted earlier in the day, and the police are investigating whether she was sexually tortured or not.

In a similar incident, 3 people were arrested for killing 10-year-old on the instruction of a “tantrik”. The accused has a mentally challenged son, and when the treatment did not yield results, he turned to the occultist.

Superstition continues to have a significant impact on India’s society, despite India’s impressive growth and development. Superstitions can often lead to dangerous consequences, resulting in injuries and deaths. For instance, two separate incidents in West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh saw the untimely and tragic murders of two minors, with both the incidents now being reported as “human sacrifice”.

Kolkata Rocked by Human Sacrifice Incident
The city of Kolkata was left in shock after a gruesome incident that involved the murder of a seven-year-old girl in a human sacrifice ritual. The accused, Alok Kumar, was arrested by the police after the girl’s body was discovered in a sack at his residence in the Tiljala area of South Kolkata.
During interrogation, Alok Kumar confessed to the crime, revealing that he had killed the girl on the advice of a tantrik from Bihar, who had promised him a child in return for the sacrifice.
Accused’s Wife had 3 Miscarriages
According to reports, Alok Kumar’s wife had suffered three miscarriages, which led him to seek the help of the tantrik. The innocent child, who was sent to dispose of garbage, went missing on Sunday morning, causing her parents to raise the alarm.
UP: 10-year-old Murdered for “Human Sacrifice”
In a similar incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Parsa village, a 10-year-old boy was brutally murdered in a “human sacrifice” incident.
10-year-old Vivek Verma, the son of Krishna Verma, went missing on a Thursday night, only to be found the next day with his throat slit in a nearby field. The authorities were quick to launch an investigation.

Accused’s Son was Mentally Challenged
Investigation followed and it was reported that the child’s cousin, Anoop, had a young son who was mentally challenged and frequently unwell. After exhausting all conventional medical options, Anoop turned to a self-proclaimed occultist who promised to cure his child.
The healer’s solution was beyond shocking – a human sacrifice. The occultist convinced Anoop that a sacrifice was the only way to heal his son. And so, he, along with Vivek’s uncle, Chintaram, carried out the heinous act with a spade, taking the innocent boy’s life in the process.
The trio of accused- Anoop, Chintaram, and the occultist – were apprehended and now face murder charges.
