In a shocking moment caught on cam, a leopard in Assam was seen jumping over a fence and attacking a car. The leopard has reportedly injured 15 people, including 3 forest officers who tried to capture it. After a long struggle, the leopard was finally captured. The incident was reported from Assam’s Jorhat. According to reports, women and children have also been injured in the havoc left by the leopard. As per the reports, the leopard emerged out of the forest area, and started attacking people without provocation.
In a video gone viral, a leopard can be seen galloping and in one swift move, jumping the fence of a home and landing on the road right next to a car. The leopard tries to attack the car with its claw and mouth. However, as the doors of the car were completely shut and the windows were rolled up, no injuries or casualties were reported in that particular incident.
According to reports, the incident took place near the Rain Forest Research Institute (RFRI) campus, located on the outskirts of Jorhat town. Following the incident, Mohan Lal Meena, superintendent of police (SP), Jorhat, said, “Total 13 people, three forest department staff and 10 civilians have been injured in the attack. The leopard’s behaviour is erratic as they usually don’t attack humans”.

Such encounters are not only dangerous to humans, but also for the animals who may be hunted down or injured over public outrage.
In yet another animal-human conflict, a leopard in Assam, reportedly ended up injuring 15 people, including women, children, and even three officers of the forest department. The leopard had emerged out of the forest area near the Rain Forest Research Institute in Jorhat town, Assam.

The hair-raising video of the incident shows the leopard galloping swiftly and in one quick motion, jumping the fence of a home. The leopard lands on its paws on the road, next to a car and vciously tries to attack it with its claws and mouth. Fortunately, the car’s doors were locked, and the windows were closed, and no injuries or casualties were reported.

Leopard Behaved Erratic
Following the incident, Mohan Lal Meena, superintendent of police, Jorhat, was quoted by media saying, “Total 13 people, three forest department staff and 10 civilians have been injured in the attack. The leopard’s behaviour is erratic as they usually don’t attack humans”.
He also mentioned that the injured were rushed ot the hospital, and their condition is not critical. Meanwhile, the leopard who was wrecking the havoc in the area, was captured.

Leopard Captured
Iqbal Ahmed, the forest ranger of Jorhat Forest Range, was quoted in an IANS report saying, “A team from the forest department immediately rushed there to capture the leopard. However, it attacked and injured two of the forest officials. We then called more forest department officials, but in another attack by the leopard, another person sustained injuries.” he added.
