Popular Bollywood stars like Prem Chopra, Nora Fatehi and John Abraham recently announced that they have tested positive for COVID-19. Owing to the Omicron variant, an unprecedented number of people have tested positive for COVID-19. The state of Maharashtra has the most active cases, with more than 40 thousand added in the tally. Overall, in India, there has been a 21 percent increase in the overall cases. With that said, let’s take a look at Bollywood celebrities who have recently tested positive for the virus.
John Abraham
The Dishoom star used Instagram stories to inform his fans and admirers that he had contracted the virus. The actor claimed that he met a man who later admitted that he was COVID-19 positive. Shortly after that, Abraham tested positive for COVID-19. His wife, Priya Runchal, has also been screened positive for Covid-19.
Nora Fatehi
Nora Fatehi, one of the most popular actresses and a Bollywood dancer, recently tested positive for the deadly virus. Nora Fatehi’s publicist issued the following statement: “On behalf of Nora Fatehi, as her spokesperson, would want to inform that Nora Fatehi has been tested positive for COVID on 28th of December. Abiding by the protocols, Nora has been quarantined under the doctor’s observation since then and has been cooperating with BMC for the safety and regulations.”
Kareena Kapoor Khan
In the first week of December, Kareena Kapoor Khan tested positive for COVID-19. The BMC was the first to confirm the actress’ COVID-19 report. The BMC also accused her of breaking COVID-19 safety protocols. It was later reported that she recovered and tested negative.
Amrita Arora
Amrita Arora, Malaika Arora’s sister, was also found to be positive for COVID-19, along with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Amrita, like Kareena, was accused by the BMC of violating COVID guidelines by attending multiple parties.
Arjun Kapoor
Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora’s current boyfriend, and a Bollywood actor has tested positive for COVID-19. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) also directed that the actor’s residence must be isolated.
Ekta Kapoor
On the 3rd of January, Ekta Kapoor used her social media to disclose that she had contracted the COVID-19 virus despite taking all kinds of precautions.
Mrunal Thakur
The actress got COVID-19 when she was promoting her upcoming film ‘Jersey,’ which also stars Shahid Kapoor. She’d also visited the sets of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ and ‘Bigg Boss 15’ to promote her project. She had mentioned on her Instagram stories that she was experiencing minor symptoms and that she was isolating herself.
Arjun Bijlani
Arjun Bijlani, the host of India’s Got Talent and an actor, is also under isolation after testing positive for COVID-19. TV actor Arjun Bijlani announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19 in an Instagram post. The 39-year-old actor went on to say that he is suffering from mild symptoms and is currently quarantined.
Prem Chopra
After testing positive for COVID-19, veteran actor Prem Chopra and his wife Uma Chopra were brought to a hospital on the 3rd of January. His doctor, Dr. Jalil Parkar mentioned that the 86-year-old actor was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital alongside his wife. They’ve both been given the monoclonal antibody cocktail and are reportedly doing well.
Shanaya Kapoor
The actress Shanaya Kapoor, also tested positive for COVID-19, according to her Instagram Stories. Maheep Kapoor, her mother, was diagnosed with COVID-19 after eating at Karan Johar’s house.
Drashti Dhami
On the 4th of January Drashti Dhami, the television actress, announced that she had tested positive for the virus and is being quarantined at home. The 36-year-old actress turned to Instagram to inform her followers and well-wishers regarding her COVID-19 condition.
The third wave is looking very dangerous after the occasions of Christmas and New Year. Some of the celebrities have already recovered and are slowly getting back to their normal life while some are still quarantined and taking treatment. Everyone is requested not to go out of their house unnecessarily and advised to take proper precautions.
