In a tragic twist-of-fate, a Madhya Pradesh-based man who laid down electric wire to kill his wife, ended up electrocuting his mother-in-law instead. The horrific incident was reported from Saikheda village in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul district and occurred earlier on Monday. Following the incident, the accused, who has been on the run, was charged under relevant provisions of the IPC.

As per reports, the accused man was a alcoholic, who often got into quarrels with his wife over his drinking problems. Earlier on Sunday night last week, the accused and his wife again got into a heated argument over the man’s drinking, following which the wife left for her maternal home.

The accused, who was enraged over the ordeal and angry on his wife, wanted to take revenge. In a fit of rage, the accused man went to his in-law’s home, and connected the main door made with iron to an electric wire, in a bid to kill his wife.

Tragically enough, it was the man’s mother-in-law who came in contact with the gate and got electrocuted. She died on the spot and meanwhile, the accused fled from the scene.

Earlier in Uttar Pradesh, another tragic twist-of-fate incident had occurred where a man whose brother got bitten by a snake, ended up dying due to snakebite from another snake after attending the brother’s funeral.

The Facts of the Matter

Call it destiny, a cruel twist of fate, or sheer randomness of events – a MP man who laid down electric wire to kill his wife, ended up electrocuting his mother-in-law. The incident was reported from the Saikheda village in Betul district, Madhya Pradesh, and occurred earlier on Monday.

Accused an Alcoholic, Quarreled Often with Wife

As per Kotwali police station in-charge Apaala Singh, the accused man was an alcoholic and fought often with his wife over his drinking issues.

Earlier on Sunday evening, the couple again got in a quarrel over the husband’s drinking, following which the wife left for her maternal home.

The Rage and The Revenge

Initial investigation revealed that the man was enraged over his wife leaving him, and wanted to take revenge. In a bid to eliminate his wife, the accused man went to his in-law’s home, and connected the main-gate, made from iron, to an electric wire.

The Twist of Fate

However, in a tragic twist of fate, it was his mother-in-law who ended up coming in contact with the main door and got electrocuted. The woman died on the spot while the accused fled from the scene.

Based on initial investigation, the accused was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and efforts are on to nab him.

In a similar tragic twist-of-fate, a man in Uttar Pradesh, who attended his brother’s funeral, ended up getting bitten by a snake after the funeral. Incidentally, the man’s brother had also died due to snakebite.
