A Chinese mother got back her child after over 30 years who got kidnapped by their neighbor at the age of 4 years. The boy was kidnapped and sold by child traffickers in China. The boy was able to return to his original family with the help of his sharp memory, he provided a hand-made drawing of a map of his childhood village to the police, and the police helped him to reach his biological mother.
How Did The Surprising Incident Take Place?
The boy, Li Jingwei was only four years old when he was kidnapped and taken away by one of his neighbours who lured him with a toy. He was given away into a child trafficking ring. After more than 30 years, on the 24th of December 2021, Li Jingwei uploaded a map, drawn by hand on a video-sharing app, Douyin. The police looked after the map and discovered a small village matching his drawing. When the police investigated further they found a case of a woman who lost her boy child years ago.

The Emotional Union After a Wait of Over 3 Decades
After police conducted their DNA tests, their reports matched and the man got together with his original family in Yunnan province in southwestern China on this Saturday. The man Li Jingwei was spotted slowly pulling out his mother’s mask from her face and burst out crying while hugging her tightly. He looked and observed her old wrinkled face with white hair for a long time.
What Happened to Li Before He Reunited With His Mother?
In the year of 1989, the four years old Li Jingweihas taken away from Zhaotong in Yunnan Province. He was then sold to a childless family residing over 1,000 miles away. Li mentioned that he went with a bald man whom he knew to be his neighbor and he didn’t try to get away from him. He was taken on the train by a middle-aged couple who provided him with clothes and then handed him to his foster family who took good care of him.

Li’s Efforts to Find His Home
When Li failed to find his biological parents with the help of his foster parents or DNA databases, he went on a video sharing app and share his video asking for help to find his village showing the rough hand-drawn map from his memory. The video went viral and the police helped Li to get back to his original family.
He said in the video, “I’ m a child who’s finding his home. I was taken to Henan by a bald neighbor around 1989 when I was about four years old,” he said. “This is a map of my home area that I have drawn from memory,” he added.
He thanked everyone who helped him to go back to his real family and was very happy to finally meet his mother after 30+ years.
