Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya actor Anupam Shyam passed away at the age of 63 due to multiple organ failure. For the past few years, the actor was battling a kidney ailment. Shyam had even recently rejoined the cast of Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya 2 to play his part as Thakur Sajjan Singh.

Anupam Shyam, a notable actor, died on Monday in Mumbai due to multiple organ failures. He was 63. He died at night, four days after being admitted to the hospital. The veteran actor Shyam deceased in the presence of his brothers, Anurag and Kanchan.

He was most noted for his performance on the television serial Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya & was featured in films such as Slumdog Millionaire and Bandit Queen. He was hospitalized at Lifeline Hospital in nearby Goregoan four days ago.

The Cine and TV Artists Association Had requested financial aid for him

In the year 2020, the actor was admitted to the hospital in the Intensive Care Unit and underwent dialysis. The Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) had requested financial assistance on behalf of the actor.

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, had declared an amount of Rs 20 lakh contribution for the actor’s treatment. Bollywood actor cum humanitarian Sonu Sood, has also offered him support for his treatment.

Shyam’s actor buddy Yashpal Sharma: He had a high blood sugar problem

Yashpal Sharma, Shyam’s actor friend and often co- actor stated that his “funeral will be conducted later today.”

Sharma had headed to the medical facility after knowing of his friend’s death. But when he showed up, he observed that the actor was still breathing.

“I heard out he was no longer alive, so we quickly rushed here and noticed him still breathing, and the doctor subsequently asserted him dead,”

-he explained.

Sharma told the media that the veteran actor, who had been battling kidney damage for many years, died at 1:30 a.m. today. He had a high blood sugar problem.

He further added that the actor’s body would be transported to his home in New Dindoshi, MHADA colony, in the morning.

The Entertainment Industry offers tribute

Actor Manoj Joshi released a statement on Twitter, writing, “Saddened by the death of my buddy and highly skilled actor Anupam Shyam Ji. We have mourned the loss of a wonderful person. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends.”

Ashok Pandit wrote, “Sad to hear of the loss of one of the outstanding actors and wonderful human being #AnupamShyam due to multiple organ failure, my sincere condolences to his family.  It’s a huge loss to the cinema & TV business.”

Anupam Shyam earned a critical acclaim for Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya

He began his career in 1996 with Shyam Benegal’s Sardari Begum. Shyam has performed in films such as Satya, Dil Se, Lagan, and Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi, and earned a critical acclaim for his work as Thakur Sajjan Singh in Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya, which was broadcasted on Star Plus in 2009.

Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2 producer Rajan shahi stated in a statement, “I am really shocked to hear about the death of Anupam Shyam Ji.” May his family and friends have the courage to get over these challenging times.

I recall when we started working on Pratigya Season 2 and he was overjoyed to be working again and playing his favorite character, Thakur Sajjan Singh.

Rajan Shahi added, he was always upbeat and enthusiastic, and he will be appreciated for his exceptional performance. I pray his soul rest in peace.
