In another horrific incident, a married Hindu woman in Pakistan was allegedly abducted and raped after she refused to convert to Islam. According to reports, the police is yet to register a case in the matter. The incident took place in Samaro town in the Umarkot district. The incident came to the fore after the woman took to social media and shared a video alleging being abducted and raped.
In the video shared on social media, the woman claimed that she was raped in Samaro town and the police have not registered a case against the accused. A Hindu leader in Pakistan was quoted in the matter saying, “The girl and her family are sitting outside the police station but no case has been registered as yet.” In the video, the girl claimed that she was abducted by one Ibrahim Mangrio, and Punho Mangiro along with their accomplice.
The woman alleged that the abductors threatened and asked her to convert to Islam. However, when she refused, they raped her repeatedly for three days. She claimed that she somehow managed to escape the abductors and returned home.
Earlier in June 2022, a teenage Hindu girl Kareena Kumari in Pakistan was forcibly converted to Islam and married to a Muslim man. Similarly, incidents of forced conversion and atrocities against minorities are rampant in Pakistan.
The Facts of the Matter
From social ostracization, to harassment to abductions, rapes and murders, minorities continue in Pakistan continue to be the victims in a country plagued with religious fanaticism and economic turmoil. In yet another incident, a married Hindu woman was allegedly abducted and raped in Pakistan over refusal to convert to Islam, Indian Express reported.
Survivor Reported the Incident Through Video
The matter came to the fore after the survivor herself made a video, alleging that she was threatened by her abductors to take to Islam, and over her refusal, was raped. The incident comes latest in a spate of similar atrocities against minorities in Pakistan.
In the video going widely popular, the woman claimed that she was abducted in Samaro town in Umarkot district. The woman also claimed that the police have thus far not registered a case against the perpetrators.

No Case Registered, Woman Was Raped for 3 Days
As per a local Hindu leader – “The girl and her family are sitting outside the police station but no case has been registered as yet”. The woman in her video claimed that she is already married, and was abducted by one Ibrahi Mangrio and Punho Mangrio, along with their accomplice. Following abducting her, the men threatened her to convert to Islam. However, when she denied, they raped her repeatedly for three days.
The woman claimed that she managed to escape the kidnappers and returned home.

The Troubling Situation of Minorities in Pak
In recent years, Pakistan has reported similar atrocities against minorities. Earlier in June last year, a Hindu teenage girl Kareena Kumari told the court that she was forcibly converted to Islam and was married off to a Muslim man. The same year, three Hindu girls, Kaveeta Bheel, Anita Bheel, Satran Oad, were abducted, forced into converting into Islam, and were married off to Muslim men in eight days.
Similarly, in March last year, a Hindu girl Pooja Kumari was shot dead outside her home as a Pakistani man wanted to marry her, and she refused to convert to his religion. Enraged over her refusal, the accused and his two accomplices opened fire on her.
