On September 25, an Indian diplomat Sneha Dubey showed Pakistan a mirror at the UN General Assembly. The young IFS officer gave a fiery speech at the biggest diplomacy stage in the world where all eyes were set and what the representative from India say. On Saturday, India once again reiterated its position on Jammu & Kashmir, and its representative at the UNGA Sneha Dubey proclaimed that J&K and Ladakh were and will continue to be “an integral and an inalienable part of India”.

Pak PM Imran Khan Calls Modi Govt “Fascist”

The young diplomat’s remark came after Pakistan PM Imran Khan gave an address a day before where he spoke about Islamophobia, and labelled the current Narendra Modi government as ‘fascist’. He also spoke about Jammu & Kashmir and the human rights violation that transpired after Article 370 was revoked.

Sneha Dubey Uses ‘Rights to Reply’ Against Imran Khan’s Remarks

Sneha Dubey used a ‘Rights to Reply’ against PM Khan’s remarks and claimed that J&K and Ladakh is and will always be India’s “integral and inalienable part.” She further said that, “This includes the areas that are under the illegal occupation of Pakistan. We call upon Pakistan to immediately vacate all areas under its illegal occupation.”

First Secretary Sneha Dubey also added, “Pakistan holds the ignoble record of hosting the largest number of terrorists proscribed by the UNSC (United Nations Security Council). Osama bin Laden got shelter in Pakistan. Even today, Pakistan leadership glorifies him as a martyr.”

“Not The First Time Pak Leader Misused UN”

She added that Pakistan PM Khan’s speech yesterday was not the first time Pakistan attempted misusing UN to propagate lies against India. “Regrettably, this is not the first time the leader of Pakistan has misused platforms provided by the UN to propagate false and malicious propaganda against my country, and seeking in vain to divert the world’s attention from the sad state of his country where terrorists enjoy free pass while the lives of ordinary people, especially those belonging to the minority communities, are turned upside down.”

India Wants Normal Relations with All Neighbours

She also added that India desires normal relations with all its neighbours which includes Pakistan, however, she claimed that it would be for Pakistan capital Islamabad to work towards “creating a conducive atmosphere by taking credible, verifiable and irreversible actions to not allow any territory under its control to be used for cross border terrorism against India in any manner.”

What Do We Know About Sneha Dubey Who Stirred UN?

An Indian Foreign Officer (IFS) of 2012 batch, Sneha has a myriad of relevant experience. After completing her schooling from Goa, she took to the Fergusson College, Pune and later studied at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

At JNU, she did her MPhil in International studies. In 2011, she realized her dream of being in IFS and cleared her civil services exam in her first attempt. Before her stint as the first secretary at the UN, she also worked at the Ministry of External Affairs and represented India in 2014 at Madrid.
