TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty has reportedly fallen ill days after getting fake COVID-19 vaccine shot. The actress turned politician had been duped along with hundreds of people in Kolkata in a fake COVID-19 vaccine scam where a man pretended to be a government official to run the fake camp. It should be noted that the doctor who attended to Mimi claimed that it’s too soon to link the illness to the fake shot.

In a concerning development regarding fake COVID-19 vaccine scam that took place in Kolkata this week, TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty, who was part of the hundreds of people that were duped into getting the fake vaccine shot, has been reported to be sick.

According to reports, she started showing symptoms of sickness such as intense sweating and severe stomach ache. After her house help called the doctor, and the concerning doctor investigated her illness, she was asked to get herself admitted to a hospital. However, she has reportedly refused to do so and opted for a home treatment.

Mimi already suffers from liver & gallbladder ailments

It should be noted that the actress, singer turned parliamentarian has dealt with certain medical conditions in the past as well which includes. – liver and gallbladder ailments. However, as per the doctor’s assessment, it is not yet known whether her recent fake vaccination shots triggered any complications.

“Mimi Chakraborty’s condition is now stable and she is under treatment at her home. She is also suffering from hypertension. The doctor who attended to her said her illness cannot be immediately linked to the fake vaccine as she already had a liver problem,”

Mimi Asks People to Not Panic after Receiving Fake Vaccine

Chakraborty had also taken to her social media platform after she was duped along with other beneficiaries and had asked people not to panic after receiving fake vaccine shots. She also added that the vials of fake vaccines have been sent for forensic investigation and conclusive results as to what the vials consisted of – are expected to arrive in the next few days.

An Alert Mimi Exposes COVID-19 Vaccine Scam

Earlier, Chakraborty’s assertiveness led to the fake COVID-19 vaccine camp’s being exposed. The racket was done by a 26-year-old man who was posing as civic personnel. The culprit, named Debanjan Deb, conducted and promoted 2 large vaccine camps in Kolkata’s Kasba region where several hundred people came to get an ‘on-spot’ registration and subsequently get vaccinated. This also included TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty.

This is how Mimi got suspicious

The scam was exposed after Chakraborty got suspicious about the legitimacy of the vaccination as she didn’t receive any confirmation SMS that’s sent when the beneficiary is administered a dose. She also didn’t get the vaccination certificate, that’s customary and mandatory.

She took to the police and informed of the happening, and this led to the arrest of Debanjan Deb. Deb’s arrest also followed the police seizing several fake labels of vaccines, a car with the blue and white beacon representing the West Bengal government, and documents that Deb had forged to impersonate a civic official.

Man was posing as civic official for 4 months

According to the investigation, it was revealed that the man was posing as the Kolkata Municipal Corporation’s (KMC) joint commissioner for the past 4 months. Further, he has also been alleged to have scammed people of lakhs of rupees.
