A little about MP State Rural Livelihood Mission-
Through this mission, social and economic empowerment of women, members of poor families residing in rural areas is being done by linking them with self-help groups. It is generally seen that people in rural areas are deprived of availing various schemes despite being eligible due to difficulty in documentation and other formalities in the banking services processes.
With a view to further simplify this process, the State Government has also resolved to provide adequate bank loans to self-help groups by establishing coordination with banks on a large scale. In the same order, bank loans have been disbursed to self-help groups by the Chief Minister on September 20, November 23, 2020 and January 8, 2021.
Intensive monitoring and transparent process has been made with the submission of bank loan cases of the groups through software. The target of annual bank loan disbursement of the groups in the year 2019-20 was ₹500 crore.
In this series, a total of 302 crore was distributed to more than 44 thousand groups till 31 March 2020. In the year 2020-21, the target of annual bank loan disbursement of the groups has been increased to more than ₹1400 crore. Out of this, ₹1215 crore has been disbursed to more than ninety thousand groups.
Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the country in presenting and sanctioning online cases to self-help groups. So far, through the livelihood mission, more than thirty six lakh fifty three thousand rural poor families have been provided financial assistance in the form of bank loans of ₹2616 crore linked to more than three lakh twenty two thousand self-help groups.
