In Mumbai, a man who wanted to avoid paying pending fine, stole his own bike from the police parking lot, and got the short end of the stick by being arrested for his mischief. The incident was reported from Azad Maidan traffic chowky, where the accused’s motorcycle was parked for violating traffic rules and not paying the challan fee.
The accused in the matter has been identified as 24-year-old Tariq Ahmed Maqsood Khan a Baiganwadi resident in Mumbai’s Govandi. It all started when the accused, 24-year-old Tariq Ahmed Maqsood Khan, had his bike towed away for violating traffic rules outside the Azad Maidan traffic chowky. But instead of accepting the consequences of his actions and paying the fine, Tariq hatched a scheme to avoid any penalties.
He decided to steal his own bike from the police parking lot, thinking he could get away with it. The audacity of his plan was not lost on the authorities, as they soon discovered that a bike was missing from their custody.
Tariq was apprehended in the aftermath, and he confessed to his wrongdoing, revealing the elaborate plot to steal his own bike. A case of theft was also registered against him. What could’ve ended with Tariq paying the fee for violating law, eventually ended with a case against him.
The Facts of the Matter
In a surprising turn of events, a man in Mumbai found himself on the wrong side of the law after he attempted to avoid paying a fine for violating traffic rules. What started as a routine towing of his bike by the Mumbai Traffic Police ended up with a case of motorcycle theft filed against the man.
Little did the authorities know that the alleged thief was none other than the owner of the two-wheeler himself, who had resorted to stealing his own bike from the police parking lot in a desperate bid to evade the penalty.
Cops File Theft Case, Shocking Discovery of Culprit
The accused in the matter was identified as 24-year-old Tariq Ahmed Maqsood Khan, a resident of Govandi area in Mumbai.
It so happened that Mumbai traffic police had filed a case of theft against an unidentified man. During investigation, it was revealed that the owner of the motorcycle was the man they were looking for in the first place.

Mumbai Man Wanted to Avoid Paying Fee
According to reports, Khan’s motorcycle had been towed away for violating traffic rules and not paying the fee. In a desperate bid to avoid paying the challan fee, the accused hatched a plan – steal the motorcycle that was parked at the lot of the traffic police chowky.
After being brought in for questioning, Khan confessed to having stolen the motorcycle from the police parking lot.

Motorcycle was Chained at Police Parking Lot
As per the police, Khan’s motorcycle had been chained, which was found to have been broken.
This was when the cops realised that the motorcycle was stolen under their nose, and to their surprise, the culprit was the man whose motorcycle they had towed away.
