In a harrowing incident reported from Mumbai, a teen was assaulted and stabbed by two men for the trivial reason of not sharing wi-fi password in the city’s Kamothe area. The incident occurred earlier on October 27 in Navi Mumbai suburb. The victim in the matter was identified as 17-year-old Vishal Rajkumar Mourya, while the accused were identified as Ravindra Rajesh Atwal (22) and Raj Shailesh Valmiki (19).
Earlier on the day of the incident, the deceased was coming out of the bakery shop where he used to work. The duo approached him and sought the password of the Wi-Fi. When the victim refused to give out the password, they started assaulting him and in a fit of rage, stabbed him in the back. Although a nearby shopkeeper rushed to intervene, the accused fled from the scene.
Murders over trivial reasons have been on a concerning uptick lately. Earlier in October 1 person was killed and 5 were injured at a wedding in Agra in the aftermath of dispute over ‘rasgulla shortage’.
Similarly, in the same week, the son of a retired cop was killed in Ghaziabad by an enraged man over parking issue. In October, a man in Odisha killed his wife over a burnt turtle curry, and later buried her body in the backyard of his residence.
The Facts of the Matter
A teen in Mumbai had to lose his life over one of the most trivial reasons – not sharing the Wi-Fi password to two miscreants, who are now in police custody. The incident was reported from Kamothe area in Mumbai’s Navi Mumbai suburb and occurred earlier on October 27.
Victim was Working in Bakery Shop
As per reports, the incident occurred in front of a paan shop when the deceased, identified as 17-year-old Vishal Rajkumar Mourya, was leaving from the bakery where he used to work. He was approached by two men, who asked him to give the Wi-Fi spot they found in the region.
Accused Approach Victim for Wi-Fi Password
The 17-year-old boy refused to give the password, which became the heartbreaking reason for his demise. The accused duo, identified as Rajesh Atwal and Raj Shailesh Valmiki, started brutally thrashing him until he didn’t give the password.

The Crime As It Happened
The accused duo, who were already in an inebriated state, then stabbed Vishal in the back. The paan shop owner, who was witnessing the entire ordeal, rushed to intervene. However, by then the accused had already fled the scene.
Vishal was in a serious condition due to the knife stab and was lying down in the pool of his blood. He was rushed to the MGM Hospital by some colleagues of his, and was declared dead on arrival before he could be admitted to the hospital.

The Eventual Arrest
Soon, a complaint was filed in the matter. The case was taken by the local police under the leadership of Senior inspector Smita Jadhav. The cops were able to arrest the accused and book them under multiple sections of IPC, including Section 302 of the IPC.
