A Mumbai-based woman filed a complaint against her own mother for reportedly cheating during her online LLB examinations. The complainant further alleged her mother having an extramarital affair. The incident was reported from Navi Mumbai and the complainant was a 30-year-old Mumbai-based doctor. As per the woman, her mother asked a man to appear for her sixth semester LLB examination during COVID-19 lockdown.

As per senior inspector Tanaki Bhagat, the 30-year-old complainant stays with her father while her mother stays on her own in Navi Mumbai’s Nerul area. As per the complainant, her mother enrolled herself for LLB earlier in 2005. However, received several backlogs multiple times over the course of years.

In 2020, all the examinations were being held online. As per the complainant, her mother took advantage of the pandemic-forced online examinations, and asked someone she knew to appear for her while she kept the camera off.

Further, the complainant also alleged her mother of having extramarital affairs.

Earlier in 2020, a similar shocking news had surfaced from Madhya Pradesh where a woman had taken to court, alleging losing trust in her father after he cheated in Ludo and defeated her. The 24-year-old alleged that she couldn’t trust her father after he promised her all the happiness in the world.

The Facts of the Matter

Parents tell their children to never cheat or bend rules. However, there are times when parents themselves commit an act they have asked their children to not indulge in. In one such situation, a woman allegedly cheated during her online LLB examination. Her alleged actions only came to the fore after her 30-year-old daughter filed a complaint against her.

Woman Takes Father to Court For Cheating in Ludo

It should be noted that this is not the first time a parent was legally scrutinized for “cheating”. Earlier in 2020, a similar incident was reported from Madhya Pradesh, where a 24-year-old woman took her father to court for “cheating”. Unlike the Mumbai case, the father had not cheated in an exam, but in popular game Ludo.

“The woman said she lost respect for her father as he went on to defeat her. She felt that her father should have lost in the game for the sake of her happiness,” news agency ANI quoted Bhopal Family Court counsellor Sarita saying.
