In a horrifying crime being reported from Muzaffarnagar, an 8-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 71-year-old school principal. The accused has been reportedly arrested by the police under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Meanwhile, another teacher from the same school has also been arrested for hiding evidences related to the case and hiding the crime details. The victim of the horrific crime has been reported to be a student of a primary school under the Kotwali police station jurisdiction.

According to reports, the crime came to light when the minor victim came home from the school with bleeding. When further asked about the matter, she revealed the trauma she was being regularly subjected to.

The girl’s father filed a complaint at the police station and an FIR was filed under provisions of the POCSO Act and IPC. Meanwhile, the accused have been already been produced to magistrate court and sent to jail.

The Facts of the Matter

In a blood-curdling incident reported from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, a 71-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl. The accused is a principal of a school located in the city’s Kotwali locality. The victim is reported to be a class III student from the same school. Along with the principal, a teacher from the same school has also been found to have known about the misdeed, and has been arrested for hiding the crime details from the police.

Girl Came Home from School Bleeding

According to Nagar Kotwali Station House Officer Anand Dev Mishra, the incident was brought to the light when the survivor came back home bleeding earlier this week. When her mother asked about the bleeding, the 9-year-old girl narrated the whole ordeal to her.

Soon the girl’s father took to the police station and filed a complaint. On the basis of his complaint, the police filed an FIR under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 376 (punishment for rape), and sections of the POCSO Act.

“Daughter was called on some pretext…”

A TOI report quoted the girl’s father saying, “My daughter was called to the principal’s room on some pretext. The man then took off her clothes and raped her”. SHO Anand Dev Mishra said that medical tests are awaited and further investigation has already been launched into the matter.

Accused Arrested & Put in Jail, Investigation is On

Meanwhile, the police has confirmed that both the accused – the teacher and the principal – were arrested. After being produced before the magistrate court, the accused were put in jail. “Both the accused have been arrested, produced before the magistrate and sent to jail. Investigation is on and we are looking into all the relevant details of the case,” SHO Mishra was quoted in a TOI report saying.

Similar Incident from Muzaffarnagar Emerged in December

Earlier in December 2021, as many as 17 class X girls from a school in Muzaffarnagar district alleged that they were drugged and molested by their school principal and his associate. The girls alleged that they were made to stay the night at school to prepare for their practical exams

Parents of the alleged victims claimed that the police only took notice of the incident after a local MLA intervened. Meanwhile, the girls alleged that they were being pressurized to not speak about the matter.

Later Muzaffarnagar police official Abhishek Yadav was quoted in an NDTV report saying, “We have suspended the station house officer of the police station for negligence on duty. An FIR has been filed and the accused charged under section 328 (outraging the modesty of a woman), 358 (causing hurt by poison), 506 (criminal intimidation) and relevant sections of the POCSO Act.”
