The boring Tuesday turned around for fans of Hera Pheri franchise, as the third sequel of the film reportedly began shooting with Akshya Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty reported to be roped by the filmmakers. The update was announced by ETimes in an exclusive report, which confirmed that the trio of actors that were widely loved for their comic timing in the first two-sequels, have already started shooting for Hera Pheri 3.

Contrary to the initial reports which stated that Aneez Bazmee was to direct the third edition of the roller-coaster of a comedy film, it is now believed that Farhad Samji will be taking the mantle of director. For the unversed, Farhad has directed several popular comedy films including, Housefull 3, Housefull 4, and the upcoming Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

“The original Hera Pheri gang reunites to take this cult franchise forward. While ample meetings about the script have happened over the last few months, the team is now confident that Hera Pheri 3 will do complete justice to all the hype and anticipation around the part 3 of Hera Pheri,” a Pinkvilla report quoted its source confirming.

Earlier Shehzada actor Karthik Aryan was reported to have been roped to reprise Akshay Kumar’s role.

Thanks to the 2000 comedy film directed by Priyadarshan, Akshya Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty established their own fanbases, and triggered a flood of memes that are still relevant 23 years later.

In 2022, reports had surfaced that Akshay Kumar had opted out of the third sequel of the film, outraging netizens and the cult-film fanatics. Further, the reports of Karthik Aryan reprising Akshay Kumar’s role were met with lukewarm responses.

Now, it is being once again reported that the trio of the comedy actors are ready to tickle the funny bone of their fans, with the third sequel of the film already on the floors. Further, it was recently reported that the film started its shooting earlier today in Mumbai.

The development was also confirmed by leading entertainment outlet Pinkvilla source. The source was quoted in various news reports saying, ‘The original Hera Pheri gang reunites to take this cult franchise forward. While ample meetings about the script have happened over the last few months, the team is now confident that Hera Pheri 3 will do complete justice to all the hype and anticipation around the part 3 of Hera Pheri.”

Director of Hera Pheri 3 Revealed

An ETimes report also confirmed that the director of the film has been finalised. Earlier in 2022, it was reported that Anees Bazmee was supposed to direct the film. However, as per the new reports, it’s Farhad Samji, the director of upcoming Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, who will be directing Hera Pheri 3.
